  1. I too traded my EB in

Wasn't too bad. For the options, and considering I bought the thing when the EB was basically first released (and thus barely any discounts compared to today), I made out surprisingly well. They gave me $19k for it, and considering it absolutely needed new tires and few other things to pass...
  2. I too traded my EB in

Thanks guys. Right now the only thing I have planned is an x or h pipe, haven't done enough research or listened to sound clips to decide which. I'm pretty big on not being overly loud so it'll probably take a while for me to decide lol.
  3. Cobb Stage 1 tune w/o IC a good idea?

It is safe to run Cobb stage 1 without an IC. While the IC is highly recommended, especially since you're in Florida, it is not necessary. As for upgrading it without a tune. If you're sensible about which IC you buy, it should have no impact on warranty. Stick with one of the stock replacement...
  4. 3.73 gearing 16 GT[smooth shifts]

I think it depends what you came from and are used to. When I went from Focus ST to EB w/3.55s I also test drove the GT w/PP. The 3.73s were ridiculous feeling to drive at the time and took me all of the 10 minute test drive to approach some level resembling the ability to occasionally smooth...
  5. I too traded my EB in

That was actually my one small regret with the EB. I was 50/50 on Magnetic or Guard and decided on Magnetic. MG is a great color, but I would see a Guard mustang around every once and a while and feel a little jealous. One side note/long shot. Anybody has like-new clothe Recaros and is willing...
  6. I too traded my EB in

Looks like I've joined the club of those that traded from EB to GT. Some details. Had EB with performance pack, manual, enhanced security package(meh), 22000 miles. I drove that car quite enthusiastically, and it was exactly the car I wanted when I bought. Enough power, fantastic handling...
  7. Go ARMY! (?)

Cool color scheme, but I'd like it more without the fake scoops.
  8. Another one down (EB to GT)

Congrats. That's where I got my EB and my ST before it. Saw that mustang you got there for a bit. That had that thing priced to move. While not eager to make a switch I always keep my eyes out for a good price on GTs with the options I want.
  9. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

While I may be pretty cautious with my use of throttle in higher gears, the problem is both overstated and not the cause of failure in this case. I had a 944 for a bit, such a great chassis. But it had a chevy LT1 in it. Pure shenanigans.
  10. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

As unlikely as it is, if the wastegate did fail to function the story makes more sense. Dipstick shenanigans aside, that is.
  11. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

Very few of them have failed, all things considered. Have to keep in mind that even compared to 10 years ago many more people use the internet and participate on forums. Makes it much more likely you'll hear about a given failure.
  12. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

Just going to clarify here, because I think I gave the wrong impression. That is just how I have always driven my EB. That doesn't mean it is necessary. I am not claiming that is what killed his engine either, not claiming that at all. Was pointing out that it sounds similar to failures from...
  13. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

I personally don't, but I always err on the side of caution. Like I said in my post, I'm not saying that's why your engine went, it could have been crappy coincidence.
  14. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

Thanks for the answers. Just my personal opinion, not trying to imply that I'm blaming you or even that this is the cause of failure, but I wouldn't have given it that 25% throttle in 6th. I'd have downshifted at least once. Maybe needlessly conservative, but that's how I treat all turbo...
  15. My ticking ecobomb finally went boom

Sorry this happened and that the warranty didn't pan out. Especially with the dipstick shadiness. You probably don't want to get into it too much, but if you're willing I think we'd like to hear more about this random boost spike. Do you have any more information on that? Where you on the OEM...
  16. Who else smells...?

Mishimoto can. Same here with the smell. Checked all my fittings and found nothing loose so I don't really consider it much of an issue.
  17. Suggestion on All Weather Tire

Continental DWS, Michelin AS3, Cooper Zeon RS3-A are all good I have personally used the contis and the coopers on other cars and was as impressed as one could be with the performance from an all season. Don't know if the coopers come in a size that will fit though.
  18. COBB Tuning 'Stage 3' Ecoboost Mustang (VIDEO TRACK REVIEW)

Matt Farah commented in another location that the reason he couldn't kick the rear out was that Cobb threw too much tire on it. Something like 305 in the rear and 285 in the front.
  19. Winter tire opinions - What do you use?

I used Goodyear Ultra Grip ICE WRT this past winter. Got them dirt cheap. They offered surprisingly good grip when it was well below freezing and dry. In the snow/ice, I never once had a problem starting, stopping, or turning. Drove on them in 6" of snow, sheet ice and the glorious combination...
