A family member has recruited me to help find a reliable used car under $5500. It must have enough room for 2 people and a dog. SUV (sigh) is preferred, but anything will do.
Any suggestions on what to look at or avoid? Mainly want to try and avoid the vehicles that are really unreliable...

The traction control is pretty good, but it has kicked out a bit more than expected a few times. Once on the hwy in the rain and on a u-turn. Nothing bad happened, but took a little longer to kick in than expected...
A big improvement, but it won't sell. The only American brand luxury SUV that will sell is the Escalade. Until the Navigator starts showing up in rap videos again it won't sell.

Had to post that I finally finished the exterior of my car. Nothing crazy. Super snake style striping, black emblems, gtpp wheels, frpp xpipe, and roush axle backs.
Only thing left to do is play with the engine.
