I was surprised by it as well, but the service manager said that they always charge if the person doesn't have an extended warranty. I made sure to messed FoMoCo and let them know that policy and I THINK they're doing something about it.
They just called me today and said they're pretty sure it's the Oil Pump and that I'll need a new engine, but they'll call me Monday and let me know for sure. FML.
My car has ~4,900 miles. I was driving to work this morning and I start hearing a weird clicking/clunking. I didn't think anything of it until I started to feel it while holding the stick shift. THEN, while still on the freeway driving 65-70, some of the wheels briefly lock up and the tires...
I actually did the same exact thing so I bought this push-pin kit on Amazon.

UPDATE: I took my car to the track (Thunderhill Raceway) and the wheels didn't fall off. So I guess I'll just live with the clicking since it doesn't seem to be causing any problems.
The stripes on my trunk were peeling up a little from the factory and lost their stickiness so they couldn't be pushed back down. Dealerships replaced them under warranty.
