It comes down to sales numbers. If Ford were to spend the extra whatever amount to implement a better cluster or a HUD would it generate a noticeable difference in sales? Probably not, most of those who will buy the 550 will buy it with or without a better cluster. The car is going to do just...
I do agree, gorgeous.
I would even be happy with some in the lower fascia, like Ford has done recently.
Rampant, do you think you could add something like this into one of your renders?
I think its already been confirmed the new four pot will be a 2.3, shared with the focus RS. But the numbers that motor is supposed to be at in the focus are well over 300. IIRC, 330+.
Those high rev's are pretty intense. But the first exhaust note I ever heard that sounded like that, and this was when I was just a wee child, was one of these:
No knock to the 458, I would die to own that car (minus the blacked out tail lights), or any other flat plane crank, but...
I agree, it just seems that those who prefer manual are attacking automatics when both options have their purpose. I love my stick and my auto, but when i drive my stick no one in an auto says I don't have testicles..
I stand corrected lol, so much for my guess. Any other ideas? I would love to see a b pillar-less car. Or then would the c pillar become the b and the term c pillar term gets the boot?
I think it may have to due with the purpose of the car. I doubt the b-max (at least i hope not) is going to be thrown at a turn at high speeds under WOT. So it may not need the strength the b pillar offers?
Millisecond? Just how fast can you "row your own gear"? Lol, I sure can't shift my stick like my computer shifts my auto. Much more than a millisecond. My shifts on my R6 don't even compare to my auto. Totally different setup on the bike but, just to compare.
Hoping I didn't pull that out of...
I would love a fast shifting automatic. Paddles would be great &the shift speeds a well set up auto can achieve are incredible. And for someone who puts on 95% of their miles on daily commutes, an auto just makes life easier. Stop and go traffic in a manual isn't impossible but it sure is a...
I'm curious to see if Shelby will offer it as a post-ford option as opposed to from factory, kind of like the current gt350's are after factory ordeals. And i really, really, REALLY hope Lincoln works a deal into getting a 550 based model, two or four doors doesn't matter to me. Maybe a Mark 9...
Like i said i'm unaware of height issues. All i'm saying is that the 5.4/5.8 would fit between the towers. Does that mean they designed the 550 around the 5.8? No. But physically it fits width wise.
As far as Ford's future is concerned, here is my worth.
A motor based off of coyote named...
No need for rude words here, i'm just trying to make clear that if the (according to ford) 29.05 inch motor fits as nicely as the prototype shows, IMO the 30" 5.4/5.8 will fit. Hood clearance is a totally different aspect and I'm clueless as to the free space above the motor. However a hood...
Happen to have the specs on the older Mods? I'm thinking the numbers I posted are cylinder head distances, not including cam covers. But i'm having trouble finding a source that includes all three motors (or at least the 5.4 and yote).
Heres a 28" listing...
I'd take a taurus rwd with any power plant. But since the 5.4/5.8s are dying, give me an eco boost coyote! And a real tire in back. The 245's mine came with were good for nothing but smoke.
But with Merc's death I'm sure the Marauders dead with it...
