Thought I would pass on some info & maybe a tip for the fluid changes. especially concerning the rear-end.
For the trans, early change is OK, but highly recommend the: BG Syncro Shift II
For the rear axle, you may not be aware that the ring and pinion gears have a black oxide finish on them...
The 3.31 R&P came standard in many s550 super 8.8 rear end's, but only with the traction-loc differential.
The Torsen differential is/was standard with the 3.73 ratio, and optional with the 3.55 ratio.
Having said that, the torsen differential will FIT into any ratio s550 super 8.8, EXCEPT with...
You phase the new flange the same as the phase on the one you are replacing, (The same relationship).
Not necessarily in a straight line.
You will put the new flange on the 3.55 the exact same: "almost 90 degrees off", don't pay any attention to the 3.15 phasing.
Honestly on the new 2018 flange...
Being a Ford Registered Technician (Driveline Specialist) for over 17 years, I have done hundreds and hundreds of rear-end overhauls. Having said that, I also have seen almost every combination of factory recommended repair methods, as well as a lot of non factory recommended repair methods and...
Pretty common for this to happen, I have dealt with several like this.
Pre 2018, Ford used a different technique to get the driveshaft/rear-axle in balance.
The newer zero balanced Black painted pinion flange was introduced on 2018 models.
Yes, you could swap the pinion flange, but you may want...
Hopeful for 40,000, Maybe should have said 30-40.
Haven't done the side to side rotation, I'm not a big believer.
The front alignment though, is a great idea for the street.
Taking some of the negative camber out, and adjusting the toe should definitely help with street tire wear.
Having the...

Do you know if the Predator Engine's crank is Gun Drilled?
Guess there were two different readings
51 Pounds is what Honeybadger's crank weighed, 51.4 after it was re-balanced.
Here:
But later the bathroom scale said 47.2: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/gt350-engine-refresh-time.115139/page-10#post-2430932
51 Pounds
When I first learned about Fords new 5.2 FPC from the video below, I thought to myself, "This FPC crank looks pretty heavy".
After learning that they went with an UDUD crank journal layout instead of an UDDU configuration, it was obvious the crank would be heavier. due to more...
From a pure -perfectly designed FPC engine-, producing max horsepower, in my opinion, Ford made several compromises with the Voodoo 5.2 that ended up differing greatly from the Ferrari 458 engine, and Ferrari California front engine car they used to study as a benchmark/baseline.
Here’s a little...

I'll try once again to clarify this "Speedometer calibration" issue in a logical way, and to clear-up some miss-information.
This should apply to ALL years of the S550
Three basic things come into play when addressing this subject: (Tunes and Tuner issues mentioned later)
1. Rear Gear Ratio...
