I broke mine and bought an 8 rib to overdrive my Whipple now that I have better intarnalls.
I’ll be just extra careful honning to interference specs and torque it properly.
Also bought an install tool to do it properly
Neither!
I just didn’t measure the interference.
Torqued to spec (checked regularly and it never backed), but it didn’t seated properly.
It snapped like all the other photos here behind the Camshaft Sproket. Bolt was fine, it was an APR.
The only crank Support that I had found is the MFP and it is made for the TVS that runs in the AC side of the crank.
I think I will buy one of these and modify to run the accessory side like Whipple.
On the Gen 2. Whipple tune is great!
Had Stage 2 Gen 2 and ran from 3.625 to 3.5 pulley and 93 to 100 octane no issues.
Smooth and stock like
Made 663 to the tire on 3.625 and 93.
However if your are looking for max performance, look elsewhere as the nannies and torque management will kill...
Sorry to hear!
That’s what I though, it is always easier to upgrade than to rebuild.
I’m around there in power and broke the snout. I was worried that the weak link when I complete my engine install was going to be the tranny. Now this just confirm it!
Months ago broke my drive shaft 1st pass...
Yes!
My understanding is that basically all of these engines use the same crankshaft
Even if you have a sleeved short block, it will start with the same crankshaft
The only real preventive measure (aside to proper installation ) is that MFP bracket support but it runs in the back portion of...
Mine lasted a couple of years and abuse. Whipple stage 2 on a 3.25 pulley. OPG,CG, APR bolt and ATI
8 half mile passes, 7 roll race passes and 30+ 1/4 passes. Broke the snout at the last one 3-4 at 125mph. I think wasn't seated properly although it was torqued properly. I'm also on the fence on...
Thanks!
Are you using ID1050X?
I want 900 capable but don’t plan to go above 850 the aluminator is not sleeved and the 6R80 won’t like it any way. The bottle neck keep moving
I think I’m going to buy the Fore rails and modify
I broke my snout on 3.25 6rib with an ATI and I’m currently waiting an Aluminator
I’m planning to switch also to 10 rib and E85.
What’s your fuel setup?
Would twin pumps and ID1050x supply for 900whp?
Is this the only crank Support solution available for us?
I contacted them but they can’t confirm compatibility with Whipple
Seems like a good insurance.
