On the new yellow rendering of the rear end, the ripples on the tail lights make them look like those disposable red Solo cups... I really hope the final product does not have those ripples.
I'm using the 2012 Boss 302 as a marker. Motor Trend was able to get the Boss 302 to 60 in 4 seconds flat. Considering the fact that the next Mustang GT will be 360lbs. lighter and will most likely be putting out even more hp than the Boss... I think under 4 seconds to 60 for the next-gen...
I'm pretty sure the 5.0 will hit 60 in 3.7-3.8 seconds. Not sure about the V6, but it should be the same difference with the 5.0. I don't really care about a stupid EcoBoost in a Mustang and I hope it doesn't reach the U.S. market.
I agree with TampaBear67. April 17th was the genesis for the production Mustang and it was revealed at the New York World Fair. The 50th Anniversary is a huge milestone for Mustang, therefore the 2015 Mustang should be unveiled at the New York Auto Show (since the New York World Fair closed...
Those paddle shifters better turn with the steering wheel as you are steering, if they don't I will not be interested in the automatic version, period.
The only thing that is not shown in this spy shot that many really wanted is a heads-up display... But everything else seems to be in place and I applaud Ford for that! :ford:
I'm willing to bet you guys that we've already seen the convertible S550--just under heavy camouflage. With all that roof camo we've seen on the mules running around, odds are that some of them are convertibles.
What engine is in that? It looks like a supercharged version of the 4.6L, but I'm not sure. And, was that engine really in the concept? Why would they spend money on the architecture of the engine when it's just a design concept?
Back then, when Ford had the economy to offer 3 different body styles, the standard coupe did outsell the fastback. However, it's not the reason you are thinking. The fastback was an extra cost option. That's what scared people away, not the looks. I guarantee if you were to go back in time and...
I'm willing to bet that the new Mustang will be a fastback and convertible design. It has to do with aerodynamics. And if Ford were to bring back a notchback, Ford would have to raise the price of the fastback and convertible versions for marketing reasons, and that wouldn't make any sense...
I think Ford is trying to pay tribute to the original 1965 Mustang line-up by bringing back the GT350 because the original GT350 came out in the 1965 MY. My guess is that during the 2015-2016 MY's, we won't see the GT500. And, in the 2017 MY it'll return, similar to how the first GT500 came out...
