I have the 89/82 combo on my car. I started with PP shocks and they were too soft. I then went with FR and they were too hard. I finally went with Konis and I couldn't be happier. I have them at 1 turn from soft on the front and 0.5 turns from soft on the back and they're perfect.

Try a different USB stick - different brand, not just another one of the same brand. Someone else mentioned here that they had trouble updating since their stick had a weird partition on it.
