Amen on the PSS. They are quite economical for the level of performance. ON a DD they last quite a long time, relative to other tires in their performance class.

Go with a performance winter tire over a all-season. I have Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s on my Z and Pirelli SottoZero 3s on my BMW. The Pirellis are good, the Alpins are fantastic. Far better than a all-season tire in snow, and even better in the dry on those really cold days.
