When you are in the waiting for a VIN stage, there is no sense checking on it except for Thursday morning as the VIN's are assigned weekly on Wednesday night.

This is not accurate. Mine is ordered as A plan and it has a VIN and scheduled for the week of October 26th.

Got a VIN today, retail order priority 10, ordered on 8/30. No build date yet and still shows order processing, though. EDIT: Called the dealer, even though COTUS was not showing, theirs shows build week of October 26th!

Well that picture resolves the question about the models with ACC getting a different lower grill. Looks like it's true. Can you ask Alex if it in fact does have ACC and no anniversary package?

The new mustang is the same as the Escape with the "European" stalks on the steering column. The difference is on the Mustang you can turn off the rain sensing function in the dash menu and then it will enable normal intermittent function, unlike the Escape.

I ordered on Saturday August 30 with no issues. Got the DORA from Ford on Monday and tracking is in ordering processing on the website.
