Thanks for the update. I am taking mine in tomorrow and will be taking a printout of this with me. I have the "clunk" too but that isn't at all uncommon. Funny, I also have a Barton waiting for install but it certainly isn't going on until this is sorted out.

Yup, I got that. Just been talking to another guy in the UK with what sounds like the same thing. It's not one of those "oh that's a slightly unusual noise" type things, more a "WTF is that" noise. It's definitely coming up through the shifter boot, so not the lever or collar. Mine was built...

I'm getting quite a bit of vibration through the lever as well. Much more than I'd expect from something that's so infamously isolated by layers of plastic and rubber. Grasping it tight affects the volume and tone of the noise slightly but it certainly doesn't go away.
