Try not to overthink the FPC possibility. We can only assume our trusted Ford engineers are searching for the most effective /efficient means of giving the new halo car the performance we expect.
There has always been multiple roads to the same destination, some more extreme than others. The...
Currently the voodoo is based off of a PTWA 5.2 coyote. But it isnt in production form. It isn't, for a simple term, stable.
Some prototypes have a ...different... crank.
Some.
Testing is still underway however.
The line that produces the 5.8 is shut down. Projected a minimum of 10 months.
I dont know why, but it is speculated that it is changing over to the voodoo engine.
Pill, remember that voodoo is simply the new name for this motor. As roadrunner was the term for the hi-po coyote last gen, this new coyote is recieving a new name. Its still a coyote (when you break it down) even the flat plane prototypes were still a coyote block. But the voodoo is farther...
I will be very pleased once DI makes its way into the coyote. I will never mod my motor (pun intended) to a point where a stock fuel system wont handle it. I plan nothing more than exhaust work, CAI if needed, a tune, and then springs and wheels. So, for my motor to come with DI just means that...
My number was pulled from a conversation I overheard. The redline is from a previous conversation I also happened to overhear. There isnt any validity behind my guess. But it is an educated guess.
I am curious, would you mind running your numbers with a slight modification?
Hypothetically, 5.2 liters making 550 horsepower. No revs higher than 8500.
Rpm is easier to achieve with higher bore as opposed to stroke.
I understand it isnt as simple as just shifting the ratio. But a thought none-the-less.
I could also be wrong, I was passed a small bit of info, and made an educated guess based on that. I'll remove that bit from my post to reduce confusion.
Pill, the voodoo is 5.2 liters as it sits right now. They may change that due to the current issues with the motor holding together.
