  1. Case spreader needed for iron diff housing?

Anyone know if this is an aluminum housing thing or all irs diff housings require the case spreader to remove the carrier/ring gear. Thanks, Tony
  2. Chime in if you have supercharger and your auto suspension mods

Interesting question so I'll share my own experience. I upgraded my axles and did a steeda stop-the-hop enthusiast kit (minus adjustable toe arms). I never really considered my IRS Differential to go. However, after only 4 1/8th mile passes on this setup cutting 1.6x 60' times on Nitto 555R drag...

  4. Question about NOT replacing oil pump gears

Alex Flores of VMP takes the same stance in this video; however, he does identify a couple areas that could bust the OPGs. Coyote Oil Pump Gear Debate
  5. Question about NOT replacing oil pump gears

I've been running a whipple for 3 years with stock OPG/CS. Over 24k miles with lots of WOT pulls to redline, several track visits and a few high speed runs up to 150mph. Tony
  6. Need advice/feedback from SC with automatic transmission

My automatic running a whipple with their tune feels like bone stock until I get into the boost - then the power comes on strong. Part-throttle drive-ability is OEM level quality. Shifting is smooth as silk up and down. You should try one of the bigger names like Jon Lund or Ken Bjonne @ Palm...
  7. The dreaded Breakup/ Misfire under boost..[RESOLVED]

The package of plugs likely got dropped where the tops of the plug took the hit. I've dropped a plug on concrete before and the top made contact and it left a crack exactly like that.
  8. Broke the front mounts on my differential tonight at the track

Levittown Ford Parts Part #FR3Z-4R602-X $342 bucks Tasca Ford has them for $330 Totally plug and play. Comes with driveshaft to pinion flange bolts. Tony
  9. First Time at Track with '15 GT A6

Nittos at 23psi, traction control off (hold the switch until it flashes so everything is off) and leave it in D. When you want to go, just stomp the gas. I've tried stalling the car, sport mode, track mode, manual shifting and 60ft suffered as did times. Tony
  10. Broke the front mounts on my differential tonight at the track

So to follow-up on a couple open issues: Driveshaft vibration issues Clicking noise from left rear I couldn't get the one-piece driveshaft vibration free. It's definitely an angle problem that will require shimming transmission mount/rear subframe. Frankly, I'm sick of f*cking with it...
  11. A6 with 3.15 vs 3.55

I just put 3.55s in my car with a whipple. On the street with drag radials, car does well. It obviously will blow the tires away in 1st/2nd but on a sticky drag strip, I'm hoping to see my 60 drop a tenth. These cars are very heavy so that little bit extra leverage should help it start moving...
  12. Whipple Gen 3 on Full weight auto - 1/8th mile time

Glad to hear Dustin got himself a 2018 auto! I know he was anxious to get back into the scene. I'm sure he's extremely happy. Thank you for the offer on the wheels. Really kind of you! I'm still not getting any luck on the vibration. Despite rotating the driveshaft, it's not helping. Above...
  13. Whipple Gen 3 on Full weight auto - 1/8th mile time

Hey Danny - Thanks. Yeah, a good bias ply 28" slick would go a long way to cushion the launch and hook better. The drag radials are notoriously tough on the drivetrain because they don't yield at all. Not sure when I'll make it back up to Northstar. Might not make another trip until fall...
  14. Broke the front mounts on my differential tonight at the track

The only thing I can think of is they gave the autos an aluminum housing to keep the weight in line with the manual cars. I'm sure when they did testing, they found the automatic was soft enough on the drivetrain so as not to stress the housing front mounts. However, on the manuals, one can't...
  15. Broke the front mounts on my differential tonight at the track

Yes - all automatics come from Ford with a cast aluminum diff housing. All manual cars come with a cast iron diff housing. Tony
  16. Broke the front mounts on my differential tonight at the track

So I clocked my driveshaft 180 degrees and a good amount of the vibration is gone. I now start to feel it at 100mph and by 130 is getting bad. Maybe moving it one bolt clockwise or counter-clockwise would be the ticket? The other thing, on the clicking from the left axle. I think I know what it...
