It's a combination. It uses tape, but it's also drilled and screwed on. So far, no issues with mine.

I'd say go for it. I recently test drove an Ecoboost and the difference in power from my 5.0 was ridiculous. Granted, I've modded mine some and had it tuned. But, for me, I have to have a V8 in any Mustang I own.
