  1. New Setup - track day Saturday will post feedback and details

I’ll admit this setup seems odd. But I admire you for being willing to try it. If you just do what everybody does, you’ll just get what everybody gets. So try it. And you’ll have AIM data to support your findings. I’m very curious.
  2. Preserving Settings With Battery Disconnected

Off topic: Any relation to Ragmopinkona?
  3. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

I really hope this doesn’t muddy the waters too much…. There probably needs to be a distinction drawn between the original warranty and the ESP. While it makes sense that they would be similar, they may not be. My own experience: On two separate occasions Ford has covered repairs for...
  4. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

Well said. Bottom line: OP is in the right and ESP is dodging its responsibility. If the contract supports their position, the whole thing is a farce.
  5. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

I’m sad to say this is where I landed too. You can see it even in the posts on this thread. Many of the people who don’t do High Performance Driver Education events see them as misuse/abuse. I think there’s a strong case to be made, but in the court of public opinion it’s not a winner...
  6. When it time to stop tracking tires.

PS4 for the win. There are other good choices. But better choices? Maybe not.
  7. not using battery cover push-pins

I have a battery disconnect switch under that cover that I use while the car is in storage in lieu of a battery maintainer. Haven’t used those pins in a year. You shouldn’t have any trouble.
  8. When it time to stop tracking tires.

    Solid advice.
  9. When it time to stop tracking tires.

@Dana Pants - I agree completely with your philosophy on replacement timing. If the tires are still meeting my performance expectations, I’ll run them til the cords show. If not, track time is precious and safety is paramount. Replace them if they’re not doing the job. I do have one...
  10. Charging System Service Now - Argh

@ChipG - Here’s another avenue of investigation if you’re still having trouble: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/5th-alternator-going-on-i-really-need-some-help.118262/
  11. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

You nailed it. I love my Shelby, but it’s not an unbreakable loyalty. Ford needs to love me back.
  12. Where are your next events?

We’re all still learning. Most recently I was stunned to find that the takeoff slicks I had such high hopes for were slow. Lesson: Fresh rubber beats shortcuts. Tires are king. I told myself it was a smoothness clinic and that I’ll be a rocket on good tires. We’ll soon see. In any...
  13. Charging System Service Now light came on

My car and other Shelby’s have had similar occurrences. In your case it sounds like the battery. But sometimes is the alternator pigtail which is cheap and easy. Other times it’s that alternator itself. Rarely, nothing seems to satisfy.
  14. GT 350 power loss

    More fuel
  15. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

This phrase captures the essence of the issue. To be crystal clear, there is a huge difference between racing and ā€œracing aboutā€. Racing is a contest with a winner whereas ā€œracing aboutā€ is just driving for fun. And for those who aren’t familiar with the term, HPDE is a high performance...
  16. Where are your next events?

Excellent! I’ll be there too. Gotta run a few sessions together.
  17. Where are your next events?

Road Atlanta is one of the greats! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
  18. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

Bingo! Mine is a track toy and it’s clear the ESP is not a good investment for my use case.
  19. Lets see your racelouvers

First, let me say that’s a clean and very pretty car you have there. Secondly, it’s interesting that your louvered OE Hood was susceptible to flutter. My experience was the opposite. Once the Race Louvers went in the high speed fluttering was a thing of the past.
