Same here - it goes in the center console when I plug it in and carplay starts up.

It would be nice if the screen dimming fuction would work with CarPlay. At night, the CarPlay screen is super bright. Even dimming to the lowest setting doesn’t help much.

Almost anything is better than the stock speakers. Start with replacing the 6 door and pillar speakers and disconnecting the center channel speaker. You will hear immediate improvement. Adding additional amps (to replace stock), a sub, and a sound processor will get you to nirvana.

Don’t compare the file names. Create a hash of the files for both versions then compare the hash values. This will tell you if and what files have changed.

I have a Pioneer NEX7200 or something like that in another car and its had Carplay for over a year. I’ve had the same Spotify issues with it since I first used it, over multiple iPhones.

I’m 39 and have a 2009 Xterra and a 2019 GT and pay ~$120 a month for both both in Wa. Also with USAA. Had them my entire life and never found an insurer cheaper. Not to mention the once a year premium reimbursement of $100 or so for a discount. Also have home insurance with them too.

Yeah, I really like the digital HVAC controls. Less knobs is a blessing.

In that case Ford could do a better job securing their code base. Maybe pass that along to their data protection or risk management team.

Mine defaults to stereo off too. I use it with carplay 99% of the time so its not much of an issue right now.

Isn't that the reason you bought the Fix? It removes any manufacturer EQ from the signal. I use one with the Twk88 as well.

You can wait a year for Ford to release it or 20 minutes to apply it yourself.

Updated a 2017 mustang with Nav, took about 15 minutes. The UI is a little snappier. And the CarPlay Ford app logo changed from black to blue.

With my 2017 GT I changed out the entire stereo except for the head unit. The JL Audio FIX sets the factory audio back to a flat curve so the processing is removed. Not free but weel work it. I also added a JL Audio Tweak as a DSP.

I replaced the 6 speakers in the front and added a 10" sub and it still did not sound good until I pulled the plug on the center speaker. That thing just destroys any good sound.
