  1. New 6.8L V8 Engine Coming For Mustang in 2022?!

Yes. It was a niche vehicle. Fully loaded with the highest output engine available for the Commodore. Not exactly something the everyman is interested in. Still had year-over-year sales increase and every test I rea of the thing praised it effusively.
  2. New 6.8L V8 Engine Coming For Mustang in 2022?!

THAT engine is dead as of MY 2020, and was only available in the Super Duty 450 and 550 Chassis Cabs. Godzilla replaced it.
  3. New 6.8L V8 Engine Coming For Mustang in 2022?!

That might not be the case. Take this with as many grains of salt as you feel are necessary, but according to someone on Wikipedia who apparently works with Ford, S650 will be an updated version of the current architecture. S750 will use the new Exploder platform. My guess as to why is that Ford...
  4. New 6.8L V8 Engine Coming For Mustang in 2022?!

SS sold just fine and was not intended to be a volume car.
  5. New 6.8L V8 Engine Coming For Mustang in 2022?!

I'm nominally gonna file this under ' misquoted officials' and 'believe it when I see it', at least for the Mustang. Coyote makes plenty of power and I highly doubt it's tapped out. I also remember that pretty much everyone in the Mustang community was dancing in the streets when the 5.0 came...
  6. 2021 Mustang ordering guide - when?

S550 ends production in 2 years. Likely not worth the expense to re-certify the regular GT with the Tremec gearbox.
  7. 2021 Mustang ordering guide - when?

Wouldn't be covered under auto emergency braking, though? They way they use 'dynamic' makes me think this is similar to Mercedes' brake assist, which pre-charges the brakes if the system sees the accelerator pedal released very quickly. That, or it's like the 'brake knockback mitigation' that...
  8. 2021 Mustang ordering guide - when?

Ceramic is one of the 'base' leather interior colors. Dark Ceramic is new. As an aside, I really wish we could get the premium interior in colors other than black or red (or at the very least an option for red stitching with the black interior). Wishful thinking, I know. I'm more curious as to...
  9. 2021 Mustang ordering guide - when?

As long as Velocity Blue stays, I'm happy.
  10. 2021 Mustang ordering guide - when?

The Ford media site has a pdf covering the changes for 2021. For Mustang, aside from the Mach 1 returning and the discontinuation of the GT350 (which admittedly isn't mentioned), the only updates are content related: the Ford CoPilot 360 stuff (with the apparent exception of the adaptive cruise...
  11. Brand new 2020 GT is drinking oil

There was a TSB for the 18-20 F-150 with the 5.0 about oil consumption; Ford eventually determined that it was excessive intake manifold vacuum on decel that was pulling oil past the rings and into the chambers; the fix was a new calibration. No such TSB has been issued for the Mustang to the...
  12. No 2021 MY Shelby GT350/R??

    Bullitt is manual only.
  13. What's the deal with E85

Like I said, was assuming a factory stock car or opinion solicitation. I'll also admit that I didn't know N/A E85 tuning was a thing; I've only ever seen it mentioned in conjunction with boost.
  14. What's the deal with E85

I'll admit I didn't read the thread; I just assumed OP was soliciting opinions.
  15. What's the deal with E85

Unless you run boost, E85 is a waste of time, IMO. It DOES have a higher octane rating, yes (roughly 108, IIRC, which is only matched by leaded race fuel), but the problem is that it has a lower energy content than E10 or E0 (that is to say, it makes a smaller bang). If you've ever looked at...
  16. No 2021 MY Shelby GT350/R??

I'd be VERY surprised if the Mach 1 was manual-only, especially since every previous one has had an auto option. I'm pretty sure this is just something to hold public interest until the new car is ready, whenever that is. That was the case with the 03-04 Mach 1. Bigger question, IMO, is...
  17. No 2021 MY Shelby GT350/R??

Valid point. I'm more sad that an N/A flat crank V8 is going away (I heard one once and it's permanently lodged in my memory), even if it had a rep for blowing up. The optimist in me would've liked to see Voodoo mated to a DCT, even though that'd require all sorts of re-engineering.
  18. No 2021 MY Shelby GT350/R??

Speaking purely for myself, it's a bit of a surprise, less so when you factor in the complaints about the engine blowing up. I had thought it would continue until the end of S550 production (whenever that is).
  19. 2021 Mach 1 CONFIRMED in Leaked Ford Document!!!

I'd be sad to see the 350 go (if this proves to be true), but given some of the stuff I've heard, I guess it isn't a complete surprise, plus Ford probably only wants one Mustang with a gas guzzler tax to help with CAFE.
  20. 2021 Mach 1 CONFIRMED in Leaked Ford Document!!!

That's how it is right now: the Bullitt engine has a separate VIN code relative to the standard 5.0; I'm guessing this 'new' engine is just the Bullitt engine.
