My problem only started to occur when I went with aftermarket wheels. I was really pleased with the braking power in the rain on the stock PP wheels/tires.
My wish has come true... Got an Elantra from the auto body shot while my car is getting repaired.

I can't directly contribute the brake problem to the crash.. I've already just claimed it 100% my fault cause I don't want to have to deal with all that shit.
So much for going for a drive to clear the mind :(
We were both fine... just my ego and bank account. It happened too quickly for me to fault anything besides me just being bad at driving.
I don't know if it was laziness but I found it pretty hard to put my daily down to try to remedy the problem.
Yea that's what I'm thinking too. I probably wrote off the car last night in the rain because I ended up in a ditch and nailed an electrical post... I think it's time to go back to an Elantra
It doesn't seem to be tempurature related.. It does it from -1 to 12 degrees celcius. Tapping before braking doesn't work, it still needs a good second of no brakes to bite.
Yea that's the only stuff I could find on the topic also. Bit If not no one else is having trouble in the rain with the PP brakes or winters I still don't know whats going on.
- Have you modified the front end at all that may expose the rotors more?
I let my roomate drive it once and he crashed into a side of a bridge which made me replace the from bumper, rear bumper and front and back rims.
- Any chance that you were hitting ICE?
Winter around here is quite mild...
Hey, So I have a 2015 GT PP and ever since I've put my winters on (245/45/19 Dunlop Wintermaxxx) on new rims (Fast wheels, Switch) I've been having trouble braking in the rain. It will happen after I've been driving 60~ KM/H for about a minute with no brakes. As soon as I go on the brakes...
Took me 14k km's to finally do it.. I was slightly worried because I broke part of the plastic top mounting points but quickly threw out the entire spring after driving without it.
I went with the full kit from Anchor-Room. Install went pretty well overall and I love the look. I did notice a significant loss from the headlights output so I removed the vinals from the headlights.
I did almost get rear-ended by my friend on a bike while we were fooling around in a...
Hey, Looking to get some racing strip but would rather order from a Canadian site and am having trouble finding anything. Do I just bite the bullet and order them from american-racing?
Thanks
I went with 1010tires, probably should of bought a beater though..
