Mike installing the 3.65 pulley will increase the boost. I will be installing the larger TB and headers later this year for a 50 + HP gain to the wheels.
Tune
No Komet did not tune my car. Komet installed the Whipple supercharger for me. The PCM was removed and sent to Whipple who loaded the tune at their site.
No because its the fourth and all the "activity" I have been very prudent in throttle applications. Additionally, it just plain scares the hell out of me. But will get used to it very soon. Fastest car I've ever driven.
I have experienced the same issues Will, in my car. It is searching for gears. Like cars did 10 years ago. I had to go into paddle shifter mode to eliminate that.
I will be anxious to hear if you get the Lund tune and it eliminates that issue.
Charles, you are correct. They were going to send the new tune for my car, but apparently they detected some kind of fault and decided to pull it back.
As far as the power aspect goes, you guys may be experiencing some regrets only because you have driven faster (more HP & TQ) cars in the...
dyno pulls
To add to this conversation I just got back from running my car on a Mustang Dyno. Many may consider the results not exciting enough but driving the car it sure seems pretty good to me.
All that is done to my car is the Whipple Supercharger with stock TB. No exhaust adders, and...
Will,
What exhaust are you running? Did you opt for the larger TB?
Mine will be run on a Mustang Dyno. I expect my results to be less than yours.
Did you ever do a stock pull?
Should have the dyno numbers from my Whipple install tomorrow. As my is an automatic and has nothing else added will be good to see a direct comparison to your car.
Stock throttle body, automatic
Hopefully by Friday I may be able to provide you with numbers from a Mustang Dyno.
Whipple has sent the tune back to my installer and should arrive today or tomorrow. That is all left to do on the car so I am very anxious to see the numbers as well.
That's what concerns me about the "fix".
My fix was supposedly determined by measurements of the ring and pinion.
Now we all seem to be consistent on the issue, yet the fix is not consistent. WTF......
Just picked up my car from the dealer. The problem, at this time, appears to be resolved. Unfortunatley, the technician was not available so I could not get the answer as why changing the ring and pinion solved the viibration. I still have a hard time wrapping my arms around this as to how...
Curious if you performed a dyno on your stock car?
I had a dyno pull 2 weeks ago on a Mustang dyno and although HP was about where I expected 354, torque was low to me at 324 with correction for density on both numbers.
Will be very interesting what the numbers show after installation.
Just talked with the service manager and was advised that the ring and pinion will be changed on Monday. I questioned him as to how this was determined. He told me that the Ford Rep claimed they have changed 17 in the area (Illinois) so far and that this has solved the issue.
This is...
