Lots of variables as others have stated. 2 that stick out to me is Summer gas vs Winter and you tire change. Even though the change is small, you are still traveling further than the car is registering, and your contact patch being increased will affect rolling resistance.
One thing I have no...
I read it as “just having it is enough, don’t have to drive it”
But if we’re going by your interpretation then I completely change my answer and can say on a nice summer day when its my weekend and I’m home
for the night, I’ve been known to open the garage, pull up a chair, crack open an ice...
Absolutely not! Cars are made to be driven and life is MUCH too short to drive a boring car day to day!
With that said, I ordered another new mustang since I sold the last new one, but I’ve always daily driven something fun (even in snow season) right now I bounce between a Z4 and a Mini Cooper...
Ordered mine 12/2, I got an email last Wednesday just after midnight saying order received. I’m in no hurry for the car, earliest I’d want it here is mid March, I’d be cool if it didn’t show until late April though.
Didn’t think you were, you just said you can’t believe we’re complaining about our gas prices, and I was just explaining to you why they were. In my area we went from $2.79 for premium in 2021 to $5.39 a gallon for premium most of this past summer. That’s a hell of a jump for anyone’s budget...
You’ll read alot about water pumps going out at low miles. The waterpump/thermostat housing is plastic. I have been fortunate and never had those issues, but I do know of 2 people that have.
Not everyone is use to living in an area with a high cost of living, its all relative. In my area an expensive house is $400k, in some parts of the country that’s a trailer, but our wages here are also probably a lot lower than wages in those areas too. When you’re used to paying $2.39 a gallon...
Everything in my current fleet of cars requires premium, so I don’t have a choice and have gotten used to it. Once the Mustang shows up I’ll probably feed that premium as well, to make the rated HP I think it needs 93 doesn’t it? 91 is about the best I can do around me though.
The only “builds” I’d make fun of (in my head, because that’s where those types of opinions belong) are the stance cars. I think its stupid to take a functional car and make it worse solely for attention (yet another reason I won’t say anything, they just want attention and I’m not gonna give it...
I’ve owned several VWs
2003 GTI 1.8T (bolt ons, tuned)
2003 GTI 1.8T (big turbo, separate car from the first one)
2009 GTI
1986 GTI ($400 beater)
2012 Jetta 2.5
2013 Jetta 2.5
2005 GTI 1.8T
2015 GTI
2016 Jetta Sport 1.8T
2019 Jetta GLI
I kept buying these cars because other than the 86 (again...
The purpose of mine is road trip car for the wife and I. I didn’t want the higher consumables cost or the higher cost of entry that comes with the Performance pack.
Awesome, thank you Zach!
I’m not in any HUGE hurry for my car to
show up, but considering how excited my wife and I are to get it and take it cross country like we did the Orange one, we’d both be sad if it didn’t show
up at all!
No build date or VIN for me. Need to know if this is legit as I'm trying to sell my current car in anticipation of this car being built, I'm going to be irate if I sell it and my order gets cancelled.
I’ll wait and see if the exterior grows on me, right now not a fan but that might change over the years, my biggest hang up is that stuck on screen look for the gauge cluster, I hated it when Mercedes did it, and I still hate it.
Right there with you, I don’t mind waiting (actually prefer it to get past winter) but I don’t want to miss out on another S550 as I miss my 2021 and I hate the new S650 coming out. Exterior looks aren’t my thing, and the dash looks like an afterthought to me.
Can’t blame you, small tossible vehicles have their place too.
I am coming back to a 2023 Mustang GT after owning a 2023 Mini Cooper S, I missed rwd, V8 noises and the road trip comfort. But pushing the car hard in corners and the much better stereo, the MINI prevails. Good luck with the SI!
