there are two scenarios
1. once Sync is connected to your phone and your allowing the phone to connect to the internet using data the information is being shared with the likes of google or tom-tom or whoever is behind the mapping system in Ford Sync and or Apple CarPlay. one problem I have...
last time I asked Repco the young lad on the counter tried to tell me that Penrite was the way to go.
poor lad just did not get that I was looking for Castrol Magnatec Professional A5 5W-30 to spec WSS-M2C913-D (specifically)
was easier to walk away that try to explain myself further....LOL
yes thats my understanding too.
question is can anyone find 5 litre packs of Castrol Magnatec Professional A5 5W-30 to spec WSS-M2C913-D in the likes of Supercheap?
The only way I could buy it in its smallest volume is 60L and thats coming direct from Castrol.
That then makes me wonder how...
yeah I have been using 5-30 and got the comment below from a guy on another forum, he made this point which may or may not be correct, but I will carry on using what I use
Mustang should be 5-20 std running 5-30 we have seen errors in the vvt solenoid which will cause less power, torque and...
All good stuff.
must admit the oil filter location on the EB looks heavenly compared to the GT.
once someone comes up with a plug and play RHD oil filter relocation kit I will be doing that, could work out that will be the best time to upgrade to long tube headers at the same time :-)
I very much doubt the spec 5W-20 is available in NZ, AU possibly as your a bigger market.
5W-30 is a safer bet as it covers more models and I think it is perfectly good for the GT.
someone made a comment that 5W-30 is better in our climate, I agree. reality is theres probably not a lot of...
to be fair it does say 5W-20 on the filler cap.
I whacked 5W-30 into my GT as thats what I have been using on my Focus ST and FGX XR6 Ute (and all my kids cars that get serviced at home)
Its interesting when I started looking back into Castrol Magnatec Professional A5 5W-30 (to...
this kit?
looks and feels like our filter comes (RHD) off the block at a weird angle, is it the same for LHD?

I got dragged over the coals on another site for using 5W30
the comment being
"Hate to be a kill joy (potentially) Mustang should be 5-20 std running 5-30 we have seen errors in the vvt solenoid which will cause less power, torque and fuel economy will get worse as well as void warranty"...
I ended up having to go back in there the following day to nip up the filter. filter cup socket and 3/8 flex head ratchet is needed, like you say its painful getting human body parts in there LOL
not 5W-20 but this is what I am using as it works in my Focus ST and FGX XR6 Ute
heard all sorts of reasons why I should use 5W-20 and not 5W-30
the spec 5W-30 shown here only available in 60L or bigger drums in NZ so thats how I do it and its pretty good price wise, last time worked out at 10...
anyone out there changed the oil filter on a RHD GT yet? I have LOL.
I did mine at 1000ks and what a task. No access through the drop down panel, so off with the left wheel and pulled the alternator shield out and up over the ARB to get in there, ended up taking the whole alternator cover /...
