  1. 60,000 miles!

Driving the mustang much too often. Work and fun have equaled to 60k miles in almost exactly 2 years. 10/11/14 purchase date. No complaints. Livernois tune at 30k. Impressed how car has held up. No real mechanical problems and after taking it to dealer at 60k when they cleaned out the fuel...
  2. CAI for Ecoboost - Open vs. Closed Box

Okay. Fair enough. Doesn't the GT350 have an open box? Did Ford get it wrong in its top of the line performance mustang? So much of the air is coming directly to the box as it should from outside that I have some doubt whether the closed box makes a big difference. I do get the obvious logic...
  3. SoCal Meet & Cruise #13: Palms to Pines - September 10, 2016

I'm in. One of my favorite drives! Burgers and Beer was good too!
  4. 50,000 miles

Well I am not as mechanically knowledgeable as most on the site so I can't give you the technical explanation but I had an intermittent crazy loud foghorn sounding noise coming from the gas tank area. When it happened the car would die and have to reflash to get rid of sound and get car running...
  5. 50,000 miles

For informational purposes I went over 56,000 yesterday. Bought October 2014. Daily driver. Tune, CAI, cold spark plugs, catch can, springs, kbar, strut brace, catback exhaust, full synthetic oil and filter change every 5000 miles. Had one weird emissions related problem that took a couple of...
  6. No Cal & So Cal Member Summer Meet & Cruise **Sunday 7/31**

Thanks for the heads up Liz! Me and daughter on our way in a few!
  7. No Cal & So Cal Member Summer Meet & Cruise **Sunday 7/31**

Sorry to hear that your back pain is not letting up. I know it is frustrating. I have had back problems and I know the feeling. Hopefully you can feel better brother and make it to the meet.
  8. No Cal & So Cal Member Summer Meet & Cruise **Sunday 7/31**

May not be able to make the trip dang it. Car is at the dealer right now with a weird fuel system problem. Fourth time in and they still have not been able to fix the problem. Some type of blockage in the fuel system that is causing loud foghorn type sounds from car. Pretty funky. Fuel system...
  9. Exhaust opinions.

Magnaflow street series would work out great for you. It is exactly what you are requesting-nice deep tone, no backfire, popping or cackling and no drone whatsoever. Maybe it is relatively quiet but I think it sounds loud enough-people notice.
  10. No Cal & So Cal Member Summer Meet & Cruise **Sunday 7/31**

Sounds great. I plan on getting to Cambria around 2:00 then go on a Hearst Castle tour if time permits. Definitely be up for a late afternoon drive to one of these locations for dinner.
  11. No Cal & So Cal Member Summer Meet & Cruise **Sunday 7/31**

Thanks Dennis and Michelle. I am not sure yet if I can make it there in time for the 1:00 tour. But I will be there sometime in the afternoon. It is getting closer and really looking forward to the meet!
  12. My EcoBoost story

I am only going by the car comparo reviews. Stock v. Stock. I know that the mustang can be modded more. Sort of my point that Ford left hp at the factory. I did read the Motor Trend comparo where the Mustang EB beat the Camaro turbo, but they really aren't same tier, at least by manufacturer...
  13. My EcoBoost story

I love my modded mustang. But every car mag has rated the power and performance of the Camaro better than the Mustang. Motor Trend definitely tends to have a thing for GM, but Car and Driver and Automobile also rate the Camaro performance better. The SS is faster and handles better than the GT...
  14. My EcoBoost story

Yep, but I couldn't care less about sales numbers. I don't buy a car based on sales numbers. I enjoy performance vehicles and the stock Camaro is a better performance vehicle than the stock Mustang to my chagrin. :headbonk:
  15. My EcoBoost story

I agree with your sentiments. The EB should have had a similar set up as the Focus RS and if Ford really wanted to it could have bumped up the V8 hp. Very frustrating and embarrassing that GM in the new Camaro focused on the power and performance much more so than Ford did in its Gen6 Mustang.
  16. No Cal & So Cal Member Summer Meet & Cruise **Sunday 7/31**

Confirmed for Saturday. Plan on visiting Hearst Castle Saturday afternoon so probably leaving from here at about 8:00 a.m. Thanks Dennis for all the planning. It will be a great event!
  17. Loud moaning noise...

So I reflashed to stock before taking to the dealer and in doing so had to delete the trouble code. Then dealer checked and guess what, no trouble code and they did not hear the problem. Of course the problem reappeared soon after leaving dealership and reflash helps for a couple of days...
  18. Loud moaning noise...

Taking it to dealer Monday. I hoped the reflash would somehow fix but it did not. I called the service manager today and told him about the sound and the trouble code and he said that it was probably the purge valve in the fuel system. Let you know more Monday night!
  19. Loud moaning noise...

Thanks El. The fuel pump crossed my mind even though I had no idea why! Guess I need to reflash to stock and take it in to the dealer. Really does not sound like a mod issue.
  20. Loud moaning noise...

Thanks Regs. Much appreciated info. I have had the Livernois tune with all other bolt-ons since 30,000 miles. Now have 50,300 miles on the car. I did not tune for a while waiting on the Ford Performance tuner, crazy me. I am going to run the seal issue by my dealer service manager-he knows I...
