I had a similar issue and the fix for me was a new oil filter. The oil filter I removed had a warped seal. It was leaking oil which was hitting the exhaust manifold and cats. Worth checking.

Testors paint will wear off and will fade in the sun. It really isn't the best solution to use.

As you say though, designed for plastic. Whereas, the paint I have already on hand from doing the pinstripe on the wheels, and also won't wear out like the testor's would.

Confirmed. Page 419 of the owner's manual reads 20,000 miles. One thing to note though. In the Owner's manual (page 268) it calls for FP-53 as the correct replacement. That is contradicting the Ford parts website that call for FP-78, which was an exact match for what I used. Hope this...

That is not pinstripe tape. That is pinstriping paint. I used the Beugler pinstriping tool to do the lines. Works really well. Mike
