  1. Premium plus GT owners..any regrets?

Gt Premium auto here. Don't regret it one bit. I don't take it to the track, so I would never need the Brembos, and I cannot stand black wheels, so the PP wasn't an option when the car was ordered. Since then I bought a complete set of new take-off PP package springs, bars, and snubbers off of...
  2. Dont bother with the all weather mats + ding avoiding parking techniques that work

+1K on the Weathertechs. They really fit perfectly and have zero gaps on either side. I have had at much as a 1/2 inch of standing water on them without spilling a single drop. They do a great job of protecting the area under and behind the pedals. As far as parking, well just try and find...
  3. 2015 Owners-Biggest Surprises/Disappointments so far

Didn't you mean to say "remon"?
  4. Pushrods vs DOHC

seriously, you guys? This thread is so far removed from the OP, it's crazy. Ford has decided which way they want to go, as has GM and Fiat(dodge). Buy what you like and just drive it. I've many of each type of engine and they all have their good and bad points. Deal with it.
  5. Ordering 2015 GT, PP, 401a - Looking for advice on options

I sat in the Recaros and decided they were not comfortable enough for my more than ample tushy. Also, unless you can afford a 40k+ summer only track toy, the 401a with the Ford seats is a much more usable set-up for a DD. Then again, I don't think of it as a monthly payment- I write one check...
  6. Does Sync 2 with MFT really suck?

Mine works just fine. That being said, I don't have a phone synced, I don't pay for Satellite radio, I don't hook up any ipods, and I never use the navigation. As far as the touch screen sensitivity, if your fingers are cold and dry- it doesn't work worth a d_mn, if you warm your fingers and...
  7. Rental eco-boost Mustang

I know what you mean about the rental guy asking if you want a dull econobox or a Mustang. Really? you have to ask? I couldn't believe they(Budget) upgraded me from a Fusion to a Mustang GT/6spd! Talk about a rent-a-racer missile!:) All you folks on the fence about buying one should look into...
  8. Post your MPG's

Lifetime avg. of 16.1 MPGs- calculated by hand, backed up by the onboard computer. That's about 4 MPGs better than I expected when I ordered it.
  9. Any guess on how long the horsepower wars are going to last?

" Most of our damn trucks and SUVs still get 30 hwy mpg which is unheard of 10-15 years ago" Really? where do you get this misinformation? My 1 year old F150 5.0L(bone stock, BTW) averages about 13.8 MPGs all summer, and about 12 MPGs all winter. I knew it before I bought it, and I couldn't...
  10. Budget rent-a-racer

I didn't mess around with the line lock, I was talking about the low-end performance of the engine. It just seemed like that particular car didn't seem as powerful as the wifey's car is. However, once it got spooled up past 4 grand, LOOKOUT! I will say I really liked the hill assist- that is a...
  11. Budget rent-a-racer

So, last weekend I was in Atlanta, Friday night thru Monday noon. I had reserved a Fusion, but when I got there, all that was left was a Mustang GT 6spd. They gave it to me for the same price of ($87.50!) for the entire weekend. It was a base GT, which gave me the opportunity to compare it to...
  12. TPMS sensor lead time.

Yesterday, I ordered a set of 4 TPMS-35 sensors and a training tool for $119.95 from Late model restorations. They claim delivery during the first week of April. I figured the price isn't bad, and the delivery is most likely better than Ford. The sales guy told me they now have 40 sets on order...
  13. Why not available?

Plus 1. "Driving purists" are those who simply cannot admit mechanical devices-for whatever reason- are better than they are at doing mundane things like shifting. There was a time many, many years ago that I too felt I was more adept at shifting than the automatic trannys of the day-and I was...
  14. Anyone Else Ditch the Engine Cover?

I'm thinking after the 3/36 is done, I'll go with a Ford racing blower and headers. That should wake it up a little.
  15. How is the paint on the car?

OEM paint has been going down hill for many years. Every time the Gummit demands "less harmful" paints, the manufacturers have to come up with better methods of making it stick. If they could use today's methods with decent quality paints- WOW! it would be fantastic! but, alas- no joy.......
  16. Best tire width for handling ?

The short answer to this question is: the only limiting factors to tire width and/or compound are, how thick is your wallet? Rule of thumb; wider is better, softer is better. You are talking about a 2015 Mustang here- are you ready to chop up the wheel wells? if so, that opens your possibilities...
  17. Mustang Winter Driving

I bought a set of Goodyear eagle ultra-grip WRTs and mounted them on a set of OEM 18s I found on ebay. Had them put on the car before the car left the stealership. As others have reported, it drives wonderfully. Not as good as summer tires on dry pavement, more like all-season tires on a...
  18. Your Anti-theft Solutions?

Let 'em have it. For a thousand bucks, I get a new one- it's called replacement insurance.
  19. Future Mustang?

I gave this subject a lot of serious thought before going with the GT Premium non-PP. Several reasons: unless you are autocrossing, the Brembo brakes are serious overkill. The PP wheels have a smaller sidewalls and summer-only tread that requires a winter set of wheels-no option. They tend to...
