  1. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Yes, and Ford have demonstrated that they know what they are doing right! :) Maybe by suggesting a minimum of 32GB they are ensuring that users get a new USB to do this, which also means the copy is 10x faster than if someone grabs an old 4gb usb instead. The update is under 2GB.
  2. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

What you need is a fast USB drive... so the newer the better, size doesn't matter as long as is at least 2 or 4gb depending on the size of the files it needs to hold. When the USB is inserted into Sync3, Sync3 will copy the contents into itself and only when the copy has been done will it then...
  3. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

I think I have read somewhere that there is a hardware option from Ford for the vehicle to be its own Wi-Fi hotspot, which would involve a module being installed which would have a mobile data sim installed, and of course you would have to pay a monthly fee to the mobile provider of your choice...
  4. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

...it does need for Ford Sync3 to advertise itself as being a Wi-Fi hotspot though!
  5. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Hi, I just had a play with Android Auto and Apple Car Play - I haven't played with them for ages, as I much prefer the stock Sync3 system as it is. Yes you have to physically connect your device of choice to the vehicle by cable, but this makes sense as otherwise you would quickly flatten your...
  6. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

...of course this also now means that when Ford Australia do eventually release 3.0 - I wont be able to get it, as their website thinks I am already right up to date... so it wont let me download it! Shot myself in the foot perhaps! :) (Luckily my wife's vehicle also runs Sync3 - and hasn't...
  7. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Some months ago I tried to upload my XML file to Ford Australia, which was for 3.0 - which is an unofficial release. They wanted me to update from 2.2 to 2.3 actually. Anyway, the upload process never worked - I just got an error when trying to upload. I retried a few times over a few weeks...
  8. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

I have just installed 18025, no issues with the installation process and no issues identified as yet.
  9. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

What are you trying to do? If you want to install 3.0 build x - then that works fine.
  10. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Ah, OK - that's beyond my basic comprehension sadly! Maybe it is saying that the licence file isn't correctly signed. I suggest you download the build you want again and run a clean install... you wouldn't usually expect to make any changes to the packages downloaded or have to make any edits...
  11. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Hi, the format of the autoinstall file looks ok to me, but the three software update packages don't match anything that I have been able to download and use myself. What version and build is the download from/for? I have never seen a file in this format before "JR3T-14G424-CB_85741" - but...
  12. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

v3.0 build 17194 is my preferred version, I did run build 17307 for a few days, but it wouldn't let me keep voice command advanced mode set to ON - so I went back to 17194. Hard to know what's changed between 2.0 and 3.0 build x, other than better support for Android Auto, and some extra voice...
  13. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

My current unproven theory is that all the sync3 3.0 builds will support Waze, but the world is waiting on the update to the Waze app itself, which comes from Wayze not Ford, to support the Sync3 app interface. Quite how this can work on an ios device is a mystery to me though, and I am...
  14. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

There are several different versions of 3.0, I know of builds 17126, 17194, 17307 - it would be interesting to know which build number supports Waze!
  15. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

When they mean "out in a couple of weeks" - are they referring to those users who haven't already jumped the gun and self installed version 3.0? :) ... or is Ford going to release a software build that none of the early adopters have managed to get their hands on yet?! :) I did already install...
  16. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

I don't see the Wi-Fi prompt issue with 3.0 build 17194 actually, but I did see it with build 17126. 17307 I ran for 2 days before going back to 17194 due to the Advanced Voice mode bug.
  17. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Yes, if you are referring to 3.0 build 17194 - this is my favourite, no issues that I am aware of. No more wifi pop-ups with this build... :) There is a newer 3.0 build 17307 - I do not know what this fixes, but it does introduce a bug where you can not set voice commands to be in advanced...
  18. NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

Hi, anyone else seeing a problem with 3.0 build 17307 in that voice commands keep defaulting to Advanced mode OFF? I can set Advanced mode on again, but it goes back to off when restarting the car later. I haven't tried doing a full reset - as it is such a pain re-entering navigation...
