I've just been on a longer drive with it, and it wasn't slow for me... yes, you can't use your iPhone when it's running - which is the same as Android Auto as well. For some people (me included) - taking away the temptation to use my phone is a good thing!
I think I prefer running Waze through...
After lots of fiddling, Waze is now working for me on iPhone Sync3 build 18025.
I read that CarPlay has to be disabled for all users, and I have all the family phones recognised in Sync3... so I rushed off to disable them all for CarPlay. I was a bit disappointed to find that they were all...
My preferred mobile device is a BlackBerry KeyONE - running Android, but I do also have an iPhone as well... but it is usually the BlackBerry which is connected into Sync3.
So, until this morning I hadn't really played much with the iPhone and Sync3 apps.
I don't have Waze working yet - but I...
That's great (sort of)... can you be really detailed as to how you are connected and what state your iPhone was left in at the time?
I have done lots of playing without success (yet) - but your post gives me hope! :)
Sync3 enabled for mobile apps by Bluetooth and USB?
iPhone connected by USB...
Waze on my iPhone just got an update, but no mention of support for Ford AppLink anywhere on it that I can see.
I tried to get it work but without success.
I have Sync3 3.0 18025 - but it didn't detect any apps on my iPhone sadly.
I fiddled with the settings, but no luck as yet!
Does your USB drive have a built-in activity light which flashes when its being read? If so, then that is a good way to know that it is still copying files - and you didn't give it enough time to complete before pulling it out!
You will only get the "system update in progress" message AFTER the...
Your screenshot from your autoinstall.lst file does NOT look good to me actually.
You seem to have two autoinstall files rolled into one there, note the list of 5 files to be installed, and then you seem to have a second section with an additional two install files - maybe this is confusing it...
I am going to be away from the computer for an hour - but if you don't spot anything obviously wrong with the autoinstall.lst filenames, then my suggestion is you only install the main operating system update on its own which is in the AL file.
You can do this by changing your autoinstall.lst...
Ah, sorry - open it with notepad.
Launch notepad, then do a file/open and in the bottom right hand corner select all file types rather than just .txt files and browse to the autoinstall file and click on it to open.
OK, well that all looks fine to me!
Can you please share what the contents of the autoinstall.lst file looks like?
The filenames in autoinstall.lst need to exactly match what you have in the SyncMyRide folder...
Your USB should only have one visible file in the top level directory called autoinstall.lst , which contains the list of files to be installed.
Your USB should only have one visible folder in the top level directory called SyncMyRide.
Within the SyncMyRide folder, you should have all the...
I have been fortunate with my playing around, and have not seen that error... I have learned a little, but others here have a deeper understanding.
Have a look at what is to be installed in the autoinstall file - maybe break the install into sections and just install the first couple of files...
I used an 8GB drive - the USB just needs to be big enough to hold the files, which are copied into Sync3 and then installed.
The copy process can take a long time if you have an older style USB - if it has a light in it, then you can see activity is taking place.
Sync3 only tells you that it...
Waze on an iPhone will not work as an app on Sync3 until you/we get the updated app from Waze which supports Ford AppLink. It is supposedly going to be released in April.
The only way to get Waze running on Sync3 today is to use it through Android Auto - which is surprisingly good... iPhone...
I installed 3.0 build 18025 over 3.0 build 17126 with no problems at all.
My install only replaced the core operating version, and nothing else - maybe this is why I was able to update where some of you can't?
The file JR3T-14G381-AL.tar.gz is the core file, the other two are tiny files - one...
You need to wait until April 2018 :) ...at which point we should expect Waze to release an updated version of the app for iPhone which supports Ford AppLink. I think I read somewhere that the app has to be up and running on the iPhone for it to work too, as it doesn't work "in the background"...
I agree... the single file installation for build 18025 is what I consider to be the core operating system itself. I don't know if this is the same for nav and non-nav units - does anyone know?
Some of the previous build installations have involved several large update files, and these have...
