  1. Change oil without draining?

I started using an extractor through the dipstick tube when I got my 09 VW Jetta. The oil filter was on the top of the engine, so using the extractor allowed me to change the oil in just a few minutes without having to get under the car. I did check the first time by pulling the drain plug after...
  2. HOW MUCH TORQUE TO MAKE THE STOCK CLUTCH SLIP

I don't know what mine's making for torque, but my mods are in my signature. I haven't had any clutch slipping at all, even on a prepped track, though I don't have the stickiest tires in the world either.
  3. EB Oil filter removal - any way to stop the gush of oil?

Punching a hole in the filter sounds like a good way to go. I've been using a Ziploc bag around mine to catch everything that comes out while removing the filter. For the bigger filter, the FL-400S is a good replacement, if you prefer Wix, I go with the 51516XP. Both will take an even 6 quarts.
  4. How long should I let my car warm up before driving?

I let mine drop down to a normal idle before driving, then stay out of boost until the oil is up to 140 degrees, which is just about the start of the "normal" zone on the dash.
  5. V6

Like I said, we don't have 93 octane on the West Coast, the highest we get is 92, and 92 is only 20 cents more than 87 in a lot of places.
  6. V6

What kind of fuel mileage do the V6's get? I get 34mpg on the freeway with my Ecoboost. We don't have 93 octane here, but 92 is usually only 20 cents a gallon more than regular. Figuring a 16 gallon tank, that's only $3.20 more per tank for 92 over 87 octane.
  7. V6

I love when the "true Mustang enthousiasts" come out in these threads stating that Ford ruined the Mustang by offering engines other than a V8 for the first time ever in the S550. These people obviously know nothing about Mustangs and are happy to show it by being blind to the fact that the...
  8. V6

    You're thinking of the Boss 429, the Boss 302 was definitely not a 385 series (370, 429, 460).
  9. MGW experience/suggestions

Here are some pictures of neutral, 3rd, and 4th on mine for reference on height and throw.
  10. MGW experience/suggestions

That would be too. With the MGW, any shift going into 3rd or 4th, you just have to push forward or pull back, no side to side pressure. The shifter will put you in the correct gear.
  11. MGW experience/suggestions

I've got the low profile x-spec in mine and love it. The throw is very short and takes some getting used to. I did plenty of 2nd to 5th shifts before figuring out that I need to just let the shifter do the work going to 3rd instead of trying to push it over there myself. I'm reusing the stock...
  12. 93 Octane in Seattle, WA??

Looks like there's only 7 E85 stations in the state, only one somewhat close to Seattle, but still a ways away. Otherwise 91 and 92 octane are the highest you can get in the state with a small number of stations with race gas at the pump (again, the closest still being a ways away from Seattle).
  13. Switching to Staggered Setup

It looks like your 275s are 0.7" taller than the 255s, so that is quite a big difference that the computer is seeing between the front and back. I'm not sure what the computer's limit is regarding different diameter tires, but I haven't had any issues with my rear tires being 0.2" smaller than...
  14. I wanna get pro tuned by PD. What's y'alls experience with them?

Ryan was great to work with through the tuning process for my car. I was previously tuned by Tune+ and had nothing but issues with the tuning process (Adam couldn't get the tune dialed in, blamed it on Cobb firmware and wanted to charge me for the time for him to get it figured out with Cobb)...
  15. Is this engine noisy or is it just me?

Mine makes a fair amount of noise, has since brand new. I think it is just the direct injection system, my GLI made similar noises though not quite as loud. In 30k miles I haven't had any issues, so the sound doesn't seem to be a problem. It does sound like valve train noise if you aren't...
  16. Blow off valve for ecoboost

I'm one who had issues with the stock valve not holding boost once I went to the Cobb stage 3 tune. I could never hit the target boost levels at stage 3, though once I added the GFB DV+ everything worked fine. I'm not sure why the stock valve wouldn't hold, maybe I just had a bad one from the...
  17. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

The mounts do break in and become a bit softer, but get ready for lots of new rattles.
  18. LSPI - EcoBoom - Intercooler

Ecoboosts cannot handle higher levels of ethanol without dedicated tunes. 2.5 gallons of E85 will result in roughly E22 fuel in the tank, which is far too high. Running this high of an ethanol mix will result in people running their engines too lean and destroying them. You can only run up to...
  19. Would you say the mt-82 clutch feel is "numb" compared to other cars?

My personal feeling is that Mustang clutch is very numb feeling as well, even with the Steeda spring. I've chalked it up to being a hydraulic clutch since this is my first car that wasn't a cable clutch. Even after driving the Mustang for 3 years I still have issues with the first couple...
  20. Air Tube Delete

The Ecoboosts definitely still have the pre-air box resonator, at least in 2018. My stock airbox had it.
