  1. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

A few days ago I saw this picture over the internet, supposedly it’s the future “NA Ford Lineup”. I assume this image is already obsolete since this was before the announcement of the Focus Active not coming to NA, however we can see some interesting shapes.... Specially the Bronco in both 3...
  2. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

Ford is not going to kill the Mondeo (Fusion) they just stopped with the NorthAmerica development (Like they just did with the Focus Active). As you pointed out they are keeping the cars on different markets and those MAY come back if the market dictates that. The best example of how this works...
  3. No manual transmission, only 7 speed DCT?

I know it’s already been covered but the first time I saw those pictures I asked myself “why does it have paddle shifters if it’s a Manual? And then by looking at the position (and height) of the gearknob I realized that it was just a decoy....
  4. 7th Generation Mustang (S650) Moved to 2022...

Well, it’s not a “SUV platform” per se, it’s a C-D Modular platform for multiple purposes. The new Gen Mondeo (Fusion) will use it, the MKZ, eventually the (Chinese) Taurus, the new gen Continental (as soon as it gets a replacement) and the New Mustang... I mean, the current S550 is still based...
  5. No manual transmission, only 7 speed DCT?

Except it’s not a drag themed car, it’s a road course themed car.
  6. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Ehh... no, Ford is not even taking the challenger serious (this as something good and something bad at the same time). PP0001 comment made me thing, maybe it’s something similar to what he says. What if Ford wants something (GT500) “almost as capable” as the ZL1 at Track, significantly faster...
  7. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Except it won’t be a Drag Strip Brawler. It will be a lot faster than the GT350 at the dragstrip of course, but that’s it. It has been tested around VIR for a reason. That’s actually one of the latest rumors that might be accurate. I don’t like it but it actually makes sense :/
  8. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Well, they won’t advertise it as a “drag focused car” and they won’t advertise it as a “grocery getter” or a “Off Road 4x4” either... However, according to recent events, I’m not completely sure about the last one....
  9. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

No, Ford is not that dumb (I mean, not anynore). They can’t offer a car with less coolers than a “higher version” because this GT500 is supposed to be the top dog. What if one of the dudes who bought the “less cooled” brings the car to the track because “hey, it’s a Shelby and Ford says that it...
  10. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Eh nope, I’m completely sure it won’t be Hybrid.... AFAIK the Hybrid will arrive with the 7Gen. And like Darkane said, if we happen to see a Hybrid GT500 it would be around 4500lb IMHO.
  11. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Because it is. From Factory tune you won’t get a 850HP Mustang with better track capabilities than the ZL1 1LE at 75-80K. It’s just nonsense.
  12. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

No way, of that I’m 100% convinced that is not going to be. 720WHP would be around 850-880HP so that would be just nonsense hahaha
  13. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

We know that the car is not made for profit.... but DO YOU REALLY think Ford will offer a car with no profit at all? I mean, they decided to stop offering the Fusion in America just because the profits were not “Huge”. Maybe there is just a small profit with the GT500, but I’m 100% sure that if...
  14. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Typos aside, unfortunatelly it looks pretty credible/likely. I’m not very fond to the weight, but I don’t see how this could be a “complete disappointment” either.
  15. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

BS. They don’t NEED to beat the best of the competition, people would love to see that, I totally get it.... but really? Is it something they NEED TO do? No, it’s not. This GT500 will be just an additional option to the menu, there’s nothing wrong with that. A lot of people will be pleased...
  16. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Yeah. But it will be faster around track than the ZL1 and faster in straight than the new 717HP Hellcat. You can’t say it’s not a WIN; a well balanced car.
  17. GT500 spotted in Asheville, NC

Benchmarking with ZL1 or just some random dude?
  18. 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Well, it’s not official that’s for sure, internal documents tend to have typos (we are humans FFS) if this happens to be true (it looks like it) it was a human error.... but I’m pretty sure someone is getting fired soon. Ford never said anything about it being capable of doing 200+MPH.
