I just heard that the replacement for the PS4 is either out or coming soon. Might want to wait a bit as they are supposed to be a significant improvement. Michelin Pilot Sport 5 (PS5)
Your driving a base GT500 and you are not thrilled about its track performance, you bought the wrong GT500. The lighter, lower, track tire, cftp is what you should have purchased.
Well I ordered the wrong tires for my son's 2019 GT going with Nitto 555s, unfortunately I didn't realize that we had actually ordered the 305 555R2, and they were already mounted. Lesson learned and not really a big deal.
Question is his car is tuned and running a CAI, I think the best he has...
Not surprised the 500 is not going to 60' with those tires on a unprepped surface. The Z06 is better designed for that which is why it is double the price.
I don't think that there are many drag race conversations in here, nevermind a fast list. There is a Facebook Group called "2020 Shelby GT500 Tech and Troubleshooting" which has one although I am not sure how well it is maintained.
Well considering Chevy is going to charge nearly 90k for a decal package on the present ZL1, I think we can anticipate pricing on a Z28 to be much higher.
New car markups have dropped a little for leftover inventory. Don't forget that we are nearing the intro to the 2024 Mustangs hitting the lots. These 500s are 2022 models.
This isn't a passing match between the ZL1 and GT500, we all know that the 500 is the superior of the two. I also don't think that a manual Z28 would better a CFTP, but a auto likely will. No way it comes in under 3800 lbs though.
I for one would be interested in a LT6 A10 Z28. How would it compare to the CFTP?

Why are you even in this forum or website for that matter? I am sure there are plenty of classic mustang sites out there for you to reminiscence about the good ole days.
The prices aren't going to drop significantly until a new GT500 model is offered, even then it will be a gradual decrease. Look at the market for the low mileage 13/14 models they are still commanding over MSRP in many cases.
I'm diehard Ford guy but I would agree given the choice between a ZL1 and Darkhorse at similar price I would go ZL1. Main reason the Darkhorse is basically an optioned out GT, and no Mustang GT should ever be near 70k, especially when only two years ago the base GT350 with handling package was 65k.
I love it! If my finances were a little better I would be trading in my GT500 on one. These cars are going to hold their value very well as being the last gas powered dodge Challenger.
Great story, your car looks great. I too came from a 2019 GT350, while I really enjoyed the 350 to me it just felt down on power for the capability of the chassis. The 500 fixed that problem :)
