  1. How crucial is exhaust?

I'm running a Gen 3 Stage 2 whipple on my 2015 with a full factory exhaust. Car has run 6.90s @ 102MPH in the 1/8th at 2400ft DA. Raceweight is 4100 lbs and this is with factory 20" rims. I don't think the exhaust has really held it back. Car is stealth and very enjoyable to drive on the street...
  2. 10-speed auto swap

These guys are working on a 10R80 controller: https://www.usshift.com No clear release date but they have a video where they swapped a 10R80 into a Grand Marquis.
  3. Ford Forged Crank Sprocket / Timing Gear

You had an aftermarket balancer, not a stock one when that happened. I've put around 30k street miles on my daily driver with the whipple with an untouched motor. It's been to the track multiple times with rev limiter raised in the tune. Tony
  4. What's so wrong w/ Kenne Bell?

It's an antiquated design that KB offers for the 2015. For example, back feed blower requiring one to remove the feed tube and blower elbow to change the spark plugs on the driver side. Their blowers also require liquid cooling which just adds complexity to the install. Their tunes are not to...
  5. P0715 - Converter or 6r80 issue?

Indeed, going fast is fun but repairing crap all the time takes away from it. Have to find the right balance...
  6. P0715 - Converter or 6r80 issue?

Dang, you can't catch a break man. Sorry to see the car down again.
  7. Ford Mustang ads banned in UK!

What a f*cking joke! At this rate, we'll be back in the stone age due to people being offended. At which point we can start clubbing those offended to death to cleanse the gene pool.
  8. Baer Front & Rear Drag Brakes installed

They squeal or groan at engagement or disengagement when cold. When warmed up, they quiet down a lot.
  9. /

if you plan on taking the car to the track and putting sticky tires on it (and at some point plan to add a power adder), you'd be wise to replace the entire differential with an iron housing. There's a good chance you will break the aluminum housing. I ended up breaking mine on the 5th pass...
  10. Lotta talk about Dyno Runs... (Fake Runs)

Absolutely. The SAE J1349 specification, section 5.5.3: The magnitude of the power correction for tests run at non-standard conditions should not exceed 3% for inlet air or 3% for inlet fuel corrections. If the correction factor exceeds these values, it shall be noted as a nonstandard test in...
  11. Lotta talk about Dyno Runs... (Fake Runs)

This goes back to the old saying, "You can't race a dyno." For SAE, if the correction factor is greater than 3%, it's outside specification for trusted numbers. Tony
  12. Hellion Street Sleeper VS. Twin screw dyno!

Yes your turbo dyno numbers are consistent but still wrong. You need to use non corrected numbers for comparison if you want apples to apples. Your dynojet dealer will confirm this if you dont believe me. Tony
  13. Hellion Street Sleeper VS. Twin screw dyno!

Sorry but that's misinformation. Take a look at the SAE J1349 standard: http://www.mie.uth.gr/ekp_yliko/SAE_%CE%94%CE%A5%CE%9D%CE%91%CE%9C%CE%9F%CE%9C%CE%95%CE%A4%CE%A1%CE%97%CE%A3%CE%97_%CE%9C%CE%95%CE%9A.pdf Section 5.5.2 On any engine where the power output is automatically controlled to...
  14. Hellion Street Sleeper VS. Twin screw dyno!

SAE correction factor inflates turbo numbers at high altitudes. The topic has been discussed previously...
  15. Built/sleeved motor failed | Any coyote experts?

The sad part of the racing business is most shops are Racers first, Businessmen last. They exist to race, not to serve customers and as a result, majority of folks end up waiting a very long time to get their stuff built. Terribly frustrating... Tony
  16. Twin screw guys, are 275 drag radials enough?

1.62 60' on 275/40 on 20" rims - Nitto 555Rs and I'm an automatic and whipple supercharged. Probably not possible with a stick car...
  17. Baer Front & Rear Drag Brakes installed

The brakes are holding up well. Haven't done any brake tests. The initial bite of the brakes upon engagement is similar to the stock brakes. When in a panic stop situation, they definitely don't stop as well. Subjectively, it feels like 80% of the stopping power of the factory brakes during...
  18. Let me tell you about my whipple experiance so far.

I got my kit in March 2016, Gen 2 stage 2. Install wasn't a problem at all and surprisingly, I had every single part I needed. Earlier this year I swapped the head unit for a Gen 3 head unit. Pretty easy swap and again, no missing parts. You shouldn't have any problems but again, follow the...
  19. Let me tell you about my whipple experiance so far.

I can't speak to the 2018 kit, some things to consider in the future: Do a full inventory of all parts (even matching them to each instruction) before you do the work Read the instructions from start to finish, write down any confusing parts and review again/contact vendor for clarifications...
  20. Steeda Differential Bolt Sheared Off on a NA car!!!

I upgraded my diff bolts to the 12.9 set for fear of breakage. I'll be sure to check torque periodically. After I initially installed the stop the hop kit, my first track visit ended with a destroyed aluminum differential and a driveshaft after the 2nd pass :) The hop was definitely stopped...
