Sounds like what you have actually is aluminum. The lines are the brushing effect. I have a base GT, and the trim is aluminum as well but covered with a semi-transparent wrap that gives it a slight carbon fiber effect.

Thanks, and that should be fairly easy. A lot of heavy parts on these cars that can be replaced with lighter components.
