Agreed, I used the same method but I just used the tip of the flat head under my index finger for better leverage.

It's definitely not simple. I think the best way to get them out is to use a flat head screw driver for leverage. As long as you press on the very top of the clip, it makes it easier. But on CJ's video, they say you can do it by hand, I'd like to see that! I couldn't do it, but then I guess...
