Sure, the locked ECU is part EPA lockdown, but the overall theme of the car is for Gen Zs. Ford literally stated that they wanted to step away from heritage, hence the new moniker, Dark Horse. To attract the younger crowd. Again, to understand the S650, just think....What would Gen Z want?
It's...
No. Ford literally used a 30sh Gen Z employees, and asked them what they looked for in a vehicle. And the S650 was produced. It was a Gen Z focus group.
So to understand th S650, just ask yourself:
What would Gen Z want?
Anything a TiK Tok generation would want....appearance and clout.
Personally, the S650 is summed up in one question...
What would Gen Z want?
And the answers are...numb steering feeling, no American legacy, screens, cool screen graphics, cool sound, gimmicks, and cool looks.
Performance is optional, hence the locked ECU.
It's been a while since I've had Kool-Aid. Although, I do have the occasional CapriSun. Does that count as well? Sometimes I'll have Fanta soda too.
Just because it's contractually produced by Magna Steyr doesn't make it a BMW. Just like the Jags and Astons they've produced in the past aren't...
In the last 3 years, driving around I've spotted:
- 3 GT350Rs (beautiful cars)
- 4 GT350s
- 3 GT500s
- 3 Bullits
- 2 Mach 1s
- 1 Mach 1 Handling Package (they look amazing in person. So muscular, but sporty)
That leads be to believe that Mach 1s are much rarer.
I've also spotted 1 C8 Z06, 3...
Bye. You made a great choice.
This is what happens when a manufacturer, Ford, offers a current subpar product, and another manufacturer, Toyota, offers a better product.
From my experience, the MT-82D4 is much better for daily driving. It shifts very smoothly with little effort. By contrast, for spirited/track driving, the TR-3160 is much more engaging and involved. Both are great for their respective purposes.
I've never said that of the S197 or S550. 😂
SN95 is not one of Ford's greatest hits. From the engines to the design, it was a mediocre Mustang (except the Termis). The S197 and S550 are just 🔥.
The S650 is the spiritual successor of the SN95.
It sounds and seems (based on the mods) to me that you really want that GT350. So, even if you got a GT500 or a Mach Juan, you might still be unhappy (I wouldn't). The PP2s are rare, beautiful and great performers as well.
But go get that dream car GT350.
