The limiting factor is most likely the carbon rims. You can tell all reviewers were extremely impressed with the R, as it's a car that can multi purpose like no other !!
What a BUZZ it must be for those guys currently engineering this beautiful beast AS WE SPEAK; and maybe even having a laugh at all this speculation going on !!
Not to harp on about it, but the other day I was at a car dealer here in NZ, that sells all 3 US muscle cars. To one side was an awesome Shelby GT350; to the other were 2 Camaros. The closest one (both a grey colour), I picked early on to be a Z28, due to the hollow Chevy badge. The rub ...
I agree with Bullitt, because as each year goes by, all the economy regulations are getting tougher, making 750 horse gas burners less and less likely. Ford may wait until the 2017 oppositions power figures are released before doing a 2013 style release !!
Update: Well; we now have 4 Shelby GT350 Mustangs listed for sale at the NEW much bigger 4 Guys site. Not bad for little ole NZ !! They are all brand new, left hookers (haha), and are 4 different colours. They can be seen on the 4GUYS WEB SITE, and all list for approx. 140,000 NZ...
How many times must this have happened already: Ma and Pa Kettle drive down the street, and see Craig Camaro cleaning his awesome 14 Camaro. Craig buys a 16 in the same color, and they don't realize, they give him a toot, whilst heading to home sweet home. Just up the street, Micheal Mustang...
I think it would be interesting to compare convertible sales, as they both have loads of headroom...haha. I wonder if the gm product has the same crap view out as the coupe, when the roof is up though ?!
Congratulations to all you guys, as even though I'll never be in a position to own a new Mustang, you all are a determined and sometimes INTERESTING / fun bunch of Muzzy enthusiasts. I know some blame FORD, rightly or wrongly; but DON'T forget, NO FORD=NO MUSTANG !!
On the Aussie Forum page, I saw some being unloaded at Fairview Motors in Hamilton, a couple of weeks ago, now. You've probably seen some in the metal by now !!
I can see a scenario, where it will be very cool to own a "left hook" (with the red tail lamps), S550; as there will be many right hand steer Mustangs around in comparison. Even more important, is the possibility that there may be some rich dude importing a GT350, or better yet...AN R MODEL...
Great to finally see this comparison, as the VERY expensive z/28 had obviously set the bar fairly high. I have to laugh at the Camaro a bit though....It sounds flatulent when heard after the Shelby !!
Wow, great to hear that you grandsons are all now, new GT350 owners !! I saw a comment online somewhere, where they implied Carroll was more or less just a horsepower junky; but how they can say that about a man with his pedigree in major road racing events around the world is beyond me. He...
