I used this guy's technique for the fiberglass part of it, but used mdf on the front to make it flat and flush with the rest of the trunk interior. I put a layer of fiberglass up first in the trunk then slid the mdf bottom and front into place. Once it dried it bonded well enough to pull out and...
I didn't weight it. It's not terribly heavy though.
I didn't. I had thought about it, but didn't want to spend more time on this thing. Probably similar volume to the JL stealthbox.
The joke I told my wife was that I was pretending to be a teenager again and wanted to install a subwoofer in the trunk.
I wanted to make it look seamless in the trunk and not take up much space. I ended up spending way too much time constructing it, but I'm happy with out it turned out.
I see that point. Would have been a little easier. I ended up clipping off the RCA part of the wiring harness since it seemed to be not passing a signal through at all. I put some wire to RCA adapters on and now the input signal is perfect to the amp.
Thanks for the tip on the harness. Curious why grabbing the line level signal in front of the stock Amp would differ from grabbing it behind the head unit? The Idatalink harness also says it only works with the DSR1 processory.
I think you're saying to cut the connectors off and just use...
Thanks for posting the link and info regarding the rear speakers as inputs.
Am I correct in thinking there are two options? Use the Line out converter you linked to or grab my signals at the back of the head unit using something like this...
After some searching I came across this post. I have a premium so it looks like I need to use the connector off the head unit.

...commenting on old thread. Years ago I had a bronco II with 2 x12 subs in the back. I built the box and attached it to the rear seats so it would fold down with them. There was no pullling that box off. Then one day this car was broken into. They stole the amp, but not the subs. I was at...
I've searched quite a bit and can only find this Metra connector that goes directly into the back of the head unit in the dash. Does anyone know if a T-Type connector exists that plugs into the rear speakers so that the line out signals can route to an Amp?
Here's the one that goes into the...
I did the sound deadener the other day and it also helps with road noise. It makes the car sound higher quality too when you close them. They don't make a bunch noise when they shut.
For speakers, look at powerbass. They use the same oem connectors and everything.
Rear...
Same. I'm going to try this out soon. Seems like it's safer and more attention grabbing with the entire light on. Some of the new vehicles are now doing the entire light on and then asynchronously dimming.
ps. Sorry to bump an old post.
The traditional forum is such a better place for information than what humans have evolved to with social media.
<grumpymanrant>I follow a FB mustang group and the EXACT same questions get asked every single day. I'm ranting a bit. haha. No one on social media knows how to use the search...
Thanks for this thread. I found myself in the 'it's too loud club' after installing headers. This jones muffler brought the sound back down to a good spot. Just a hair under what it was with the corsa extreme and stock headers.
The jones inlets and outlets slid over my existing 3" pipes...
I just bought the exact same two tires last week. Same size too. Same sticker shock.
My previous rear tires only lasted 7k miles so I'm going to get the alignment checked again. Did it last year when installing tires, but I'm not sure the shop did a good job.
