Just trying to make sure we keep our eye on the ball. This is really a great point. Maybe FP will see this.
From another thread, Chris M said.
Right! I did know this and I still bought a Tech Pack.
If Tech Pack purchasers bought the car thinking they can make it on the track... they...
Supposedly 2017 Tech Pack (not sure about Base) cars will come with the coolers. Guess FP at least is listening. Which I think bodes well for them stepping up to the plate for some sort of retrofit kit for '15 and '16 base and tech pack owners.
Agreed. FP is supposedly working on at least a trans cooling package, right? I'm not even sure the Torsen diff needs cooling for a 20 minute HPDE session anyway. And even if they flake out I am certain that the aftermarket will eventually address this 'opportunity'.
One thing l am curious...
Not all of us are complaining. There is a difference between complaining and being vocal about wanting FP or the aftermarket to step up for a fix. The difference between track pack and tech pack cars is not that much. Tech pack cars already have the same suspension as the track pack cars. Give...
Bully bully for you. You won't mind if some of us base and tech pack people pursue a trans cooling fix so we can get out there with you big dogs I hope.
Must have been an A8 car? I never had power loss with my M7 car and I scowled the PDR data afterwards. But none of that really matters. Point I was trying make was that the C7Z has had problems too and they are getting sorted out through the aftermarket and that's what we need for our cars too.
One lap? Lol Riiiiight... Bone stock at COTA in 98 degrees last summer I never went into limp mode. Came close, ran hot, but never went into limp mode.
Not mine!
DeWitts radiator behind that.. Instead of crying about it, do something about it. Took a while for aftermarket to come to the rescue of the Z06 but they did. Now, we need the aftermarket to come to the rescue of the gt350 base and tech cars.
And for a little humor, a friend of mine with a C7Z who went into limp mode from overheated oil temp said he was not happy being passed by a Miata as he limped into the paddock... lol
Sadly, this I agree with as well... Hopefully we will see something by the end of the summer so that we have enough time to install and get some HPDE time in the fall.
Just waiting on the kit.. Me and about a hundred others. Lol
I see kohr has some neat stuff but I don't see a trans cooler for a GT350. When I do I will be one of the first to call them. I bookmarked them though, thanks!
Doood !! I don't EVEN fear the aftermarket. Bring it on! If you have info on an aftermarket trans cooler for my Tech Pack GT350, please do tell. I had no problem at all going aftermarket for cooling on my Z06/Z07. Glad I did, even if GM is saying it voids my 100,000 mile warranty.
Guess I didn't see that thread. I like mine enough to mod it. DeWitts radiator and now DeWitts external oil cooler. I have run it at COTA with the new radiator and it made a big difference on coolant temps but engine oil temp was still high. Haven't had a chance to track it since the new forward...
:amen: I have dropped some pretty serious coin on my C7Z getting coolant and oil temps down. And this on what GM claimed was their most track capable Vette ever. Also, we had to wait for the after market to produce solutions.
Cooler pump is internal on Track Pack and R cars... And nothing is keeping us from adding a trans cooler once there is one available.. Right now there is not.
