I will say tires can make a huge difference. I went from a "180" treadware Sumitomo to a "140" treadware RS3. The Sumitomos were 245/315 and the RS3's were 245 squared. The RS3's had soooo much more traction. I would say worth every bit of 2.5 seconds on a sub minute autocross course. And from...
This may have already been covered, but if Motortrend was able to put some times and numbers out there, why haven't we seen them from other publications?
And you know, this may have been discussed elsewhere, but I find it odd that MT is the only place to post numbers. Particularly with all the buzz over this car.
Look, as much as I like a good "the sky is falling" story as anyone else does, you've got to think these cars aren't drag cars. You could change the gearing, put some small brakes on it, put a 17 with a thicker sidewall, and soften up the suspension and pickup a tone of time in a straight...
I hate to keep this alive, but where are the other Boss Mustangs? Ford built more than 1500. What about the Mach 1?
Ford isn't going to let money set on the table. No, they aren't going to build 20k and let it sort itself out but a couple 1500 units isn't going to completely saturate the market.
This may have been covered, but IIRC, the 03 Mach 1 was suppose to be a one year run of around 5k units. Well, they sold like hotcakes and that turned into like 7500 units and another year of production. When I bought my first Mach 1 new off the lot, I got it for about $5k or 6k under MSRP and...
I've just started watching the Pirelli World Challenge and the Continental Tire Challenge. But the first bit seemed pretty interesting to me. There was some battling in the top spots and then guys battling the weather.
Also, I like how the GT350's are the only ones with lights one.
Long post short, we had ton of Mach's on the lot and I got a car I instantly fell in love with for a lot less than MSRP. On the other hand we never really had more than 1 or 2 Boss models on the lot at the same time And the price never really seem to come down and I never ended up picking up...
Well, I visit here because I liked the idea of the 2015. I'm still not happy with the weight/size. I would say I'm not happy with the size/weight of the s197 either. That being said a PP GT in the loooooow 20k's or a Boss in the mid high 20k's.
I love my 03 Mach and no matter how good the '15...
I may be looking into it too much, but a complete replacement break kit for my Mach is $1k...GT500 $1.8k. 245 PZeros are $1.1k for a set and 285 PZeros are 1.6k for a set. So there are $1.2k of improvements Ford isn't going to give away to make a heftier car perform. I may be over exaggerating...
You're overlooking the point that because Ford has made the car lighter using more expensive panels AND a better chassis design (possibly even smaller...even though that doesn't appear to be the case) they now don't have to throw more expensive brakes, spend money revising the motor, and spend...
I'm not saying trim the weight and throw the high ends parts on it. I'm saying trim the weight and let me add the high end parts. They designed a completely new car with way more design technology than the previous model. I'm not saying it had to be a three hundred pound trimming. 50 to 100 lb...
