You sure about that?
I am thinking sound deadening for the DI/PI would be better achieved by hood insulation, not a plastic engine cover.
I just think they aesthetically failed at trying to hide the "industrial" look of the engine, as well as connectors/wiring -- granted, this is the...
Yeah, you will, but my response was to a statement that said "The 2018 will need at least 470 hp to hang with the SS.", not "The 2018 will need at least 470 hp for a 6spd manual to hang with an 8spd automatic SS."
Driving enjoyment, and having the fastest car possible are two different things...
Why?
I think folks underestimate the difference the 10spd is going to make -- just look at what an 8spd did for the Camaro and the heavy ass Challenger. With a bump in HP, even if it is only 15 - 20, I think 10r80 equipped cars are going to hurt some feelings.
I think you are going to have a pretty tough sell trying to get the dealership to reimburse you, and may need to refocus your efforts on getting the cost of the repair down.
Wouldn't it be significantly cheaper to find a used door off a wrecked car, and paint it -- or maybe even just blend it...
That is not accurate -- especially the credit score part.
The company's exposure is the risk being insured regardless of whether they experience a loss or not. The principal of insurance is the law of large numbers -- and we ALL pay for each other. It is the ONLY way insurance works...
Hahahaha, and they will keep the "5.0" badges for nostalgia purposes to sell more cars -- you know, kind of like what Chrysler/Dodge does with the HEMI that isn't a real HEMI.
Actually, a base model should be just that -- a base model.
There are still people that rather enjoy driving the car in lieu of having a contest wth everyone else over whose base model has more crap to fiddle with. All the stuff has done over the years is drive up complexity, cost, and...
Mine isn't a S550, but it is in the process of a turbo'd 2016 Coyote swap. It is a '92 SSP notch(ex-Nebraska State Patrol), and it is white with black interior and wheels, so "SStormtrooPer" became its name.
Once the swap is done in a month or so, that needs to change since storm troopers...
This is the third or forth time I have heard of them jacking up shipping prices after the purchase was completed. I haven't had any issues with MMR(OPGs and CS), but I have a friend in Hawaii that ordered their fuel rails, and some anodized AN fittings. They charged him some astronomical price...
The problem is that CR has taken money to rate cars favorably. That right there makes the publication worthless, regardless of whether they get some things right or not. Unless more people call out the BS, they will continue to be a publication with a lot of industry weight that may or may not...
Interesting -- owning 20 cars in the last 22 years, and managing a parts store years back, I have never seen that.
Learn something new everyday I guess.
This may be a dumb question -- but in that last pic, what are the lines on the belt? Is there a pulley that is now running on the wrong side of the belt after the install?
Could someone measure the height of the unit for me? I need to know how tall it is from where it bolts down to the head, the the highest point of the blower.
Thanks!
I agree that people absolutely have a choice -- but we shouldn't pretend Shelby is an iconic brand for the sake of tradition... Shelby WAS and iconic brand. The early Shelbys are some of the most sought after cars. They were something that no one else offered, or could do in their garage for...
It would have been nice if they were like the '03/04 Terminator heat extractor hoods -- just a rectangular recessed cut-out with a nice screen/mesh behind it. I don't like the extra plastic surround/insert on this hood.
