This strikes me as somewhat odd, since Koenigsegg has been offering CF wheels since... 2012, I believe? I guess Popular Mechanics doesn't consider the Agera and Regera to be production automobiles?
Whelp, I got two major chips in the hood within 500 miles of picking up the car, so I guess I was just unlucky. Keep in mind that the area immediately behind the vent is at a much steeper angle than the rest of the hood, making it more susceptible to impact damage (my most significant chip was...
Regular cleaning should be done with warm, clean water and a clean cloth.
Heavier cleaning with a mild detergent, like a water-based interior fabric cleaner, or a diluted Woolite solution (~10:1 water to detergent). SONAX also makes an interior cleaner that they claim is compatible with...
Buy some TrakkTape; less than $100 is cheap insurance. I'd recommend the 6"x100' roll; the 3" can be pretty time-consuming to apply, and depending on how much of the car you want to cover, won't be enough.
That is... astoundingly cheap. My installer mentioned that the GT350 front bumper is one of the most difficult ones he has ever done.
I would highly recommend getting the hood covered, though; with what he has already quoted you, I can't imagine it would be more than a couple hundred extra...
Front bumper
Full hood
Full fenders
Mirrors
A-pillars
Rocker panels
Rear impact areas (front of the rear quarter panels)
The above, plus fixing several rock chips on the hood and mirror, ran me $2400 for Xpel Ultimate.
While the stuff in our cars is not truly "Alcantara" (which is actually just a brand name), the Alcantara company recommends that "regular" cleaning be done using a damp cloth or sponge (no cleaner, just water).
If you need to do more aggressive spot cleaning, and mild detergent meant for...
Hey all, I searched, but didn't really find anything...
Does anybody know of a source for seat covers for the GT350 Recaros? I often have to work in a manufacturing environment, which can contaminate my clothes with stuff I don't want getting into the suede/alcantara portions of the seats. I...
It's hilarious to see how many people in this thread are so butt-hurt at the idea that someone doesn't unconditionally love the Mustang. Jesus christ, people, grow up.
Welcome to the stripe-less club! We're a rare bunch, haha.
I was also very surprised by the greenhouse visibility; having been in a Camaro in the past, I was expecting the worst.
Are you planning on taping the entire hood? If not, make sure that you at least tape up to about 12" or so behind the center vent; the surface angles fairly steeply in this area, so it can chip REALLY badly (I got a chip in this area so bad that domed the surrounding paint, making it impossible...
Honestly, your point about "constantly worrying" is specifically why I decided to bite the bullet and get PPF installed. I just want to drive the car and not wince every time I hear something bounce off the hood. Alternatively, if you don't mind the chips, more power to you, just out there and...
