It's in the calibration on non-R cars. Don't know for sure if it's the same way on a non-R/Track Pack equipped car. Have seen it on a few non-R/non-TP cars.

Ford's stock cal on factory sc cars pulls timing at 110f. IAT2's average 30 above ambient. So, on an 80 degree day you're pulling timing in the driveway.

We've been using multi-pass design and core for a good number of years. As for the pressure drop being such that you need more pump, as per Whipple's comment, is incorrect in this case.
