Yeah, my "big" chip was something like 6-8" behind the vent; based on the xpel patterns I looked at, I think it would have been JUST past a "partial" install. I'm having the chip filled and the entire hood covered, since I plan to drive this car a lot.
Regarding the repair, a quality detailer...
Quality films nowadays typically have self-healing polymer top layers that significantly extend the effective life of the film. Also, unless you have a hook-up, repainting damaged panels will generally cost more than replacing the film. Covering the front bumper, hood, and front fenders should...
Oh, and if you plan to drive the car with any regularity, I would recommend getting PPF installed ASAP; the paint on these cars is PAPER thin. Even after taping up a lot of the front end with Trakk Tape, I managed to get a sizeable chip in the center of the hood on my ~640 mile drive home...
Please keep this on the down-low, as I don't want to get anybody in hot water, but a good friend of mine from college is the owner's son-in-law, so I got the car at MSRP. I didn't want to ask and make things awkward, but I think they sold their 2016 allocations with ADMs...
Haha, I don't know what Ford dealers are usually like (this is my first American car), but they struck me as being very... old-school, for lack of a better way to put it; I felt kinda out-of-place. Very friendly staff, though.
Was about to ask what you meant by the "exit" question, but saw that you deleted it, haha.
Mileage was indeed after I got home (at like 4:30 AM); I didn't think to take a "before" picture, but I think the car had around 8-10 miles when I picked it up.
I'm sorry, but you are overestimating the effects of the minor suspension differences and underestimating the effects of the tires.
Putting the R's wheels and tires will not fully close the performance gap between the Track Pack GT350 and the R (and I doubt anybody is seriously saying that)...
He meant 3 weeks from being built in Munich to being delivered to the dealer in the US; I'm pretty sure the Atlantic Ocean is bigger than the US, haha.
Granted, I'm sure that only applies to east coast dealers; I'm sure deliver to the west coast takes longer.
Depends on where you're located and how long it takes to fill up the rail car. If you were lucky and got onto one of the rail cars loaded this week, you should see the car within a couple weeks. Otherwise, you will likely have to wait a few additional weeks for the next rail car to fill up and...
