I love the look :) - one thing to be aware of for 18" rims- there aren't as many tire choices as there were in 2018. I was running 285/40's (27" od) Michelin Pilot Sport all seasons, but almost the only thing I can find now in 18"/27" are summer performance tires.
Stock with 21k miles- when I fill it with 10qts it shows right on the full line of the dipstick- after ~3k I show about a quarter qt. low, by the time the scheduled oil change light comes on it is getting close to 1/2 qt. low. I generally drive mildly spirited with a few times getting close to...
Bought new August 2018- just turned over 20k miles- would have at least twice that many miles if COVID hadn't changed me from an in-office commuter to working from home.
Cruising around the nearby lakes is how I let go of those high-stress frustrating work days...no plans to sell.
I didn't read through this whole thread, so I don't know if you got it out- last time I had to do something like this, I took a large safety pin, straightened it and bent the sharp end into a tiny hook. Maybe you can hook it.
Edit: just saw you got it out :)
Remind me where this was, so I can steer away from it 😬
The one I hit in 2018 was the southbound lane of NW Pryor about 1/8 mile south of Bannister road- I haven't driven on that segment of road since then, but I heard it was re-surfaced and wasn't bad anymore.
I live about 15mins from downtown Kansas City, MO- I only had my brand new 2018 for about a week when I hit a pothole and damaged my front driver's side tire and wheel.
Honestly, it doesn't matter where you live or what you drive, if you want to keep it nice, it won't get easier.
When I got cams installed on my S197, the AC didn't work when I picked it up. The shop swore they didn't do anything to the AC system. Wasn't a big deal, I hardly ever turned it on anyway.
After a month or so, I was digging around under the hood and found a connector wasn't plugged in. Didn't...
It's just the workflow I landed on when I bought it- never thought about dragging dirt across the clearcoat....until now....🤔
Looks like it's time to update the system
I don't "touch" mine at all when I wash it- get it wet with the green tip and rinse off anything that will come off with water, foam cannon wash and pressure rinse with a yellow tip on the gun. Dry with an 80v electric leaf blower (dedicated for washing the car to avoid any sandblasting). If...
Sorry to see that, I would be devastated if it were me. I get serious anxiety every time I park anywhere other than my garage.
Otherwise, this is me reading this thread:
I use the smallest Battery Tender (750ma) when I park it for the winter. Not sure if this is a better choice over disconnect, but I figure the low charge rate has less risk.
The longest stretch I've had it connected is ~30 days, no issues- disconnect may be a better choice for 90+ days.
Still...
