picked up car from tuner today I noticed that the air intake temp was reading 120-140 all the way home. actual air temp was 77 degrees. #1 possible the gauge or sensor is bad? #2 would this affect the cars performance?

with car running and in park, hold down on the brake pedal and up on the traction control toggle until the display on the dash reads advance trac off.
