Koni yellows are a popular strut/shock for some. Definitely better than tokico. But I'm a little more hardcore. Anything less than $2500 for a set of coil overs and your still in mid level parts. AST's, MCS's, etc. I'm running blisteins instead of koni's because they are monotube. But...
If Ford racing parts suspension upgrades for the 2015 are anything like the ones for the S197 they will be a whole order of magnitude lower than what I'd require for performance handling. For the S197 their strut/shock upgrade was Tokico D's with their branding. Better than stock I guess, but...
The S550 GT PP and 1LE are apples to apples, same target audience. As far as refining over the life cycle yes it does happen. But with modern computer simulation, there is no excuse for "working the bugs out" of a new chassis/platform.
Looks and Interior, the mustang wins hands down. It just seems like Ford shorted us, based on it's hype coming up to the release, in Tires, Dampeners, and Springs for the GT Performance pack. I can't understand the reasoning.
As far as those that don't understand what the fuss is about, I...
I agree, I'm a life long Mustang owner driver. I love my 2012 GT TP with all its mods for handling. It pisses me off that they have spit the bit so bad on the S550. It can't hang with the current year old model of SS 1LE.
The S550 GT PP got it's ass handed to it by the 1LE. Both Randy and Noonz preferred the 1LE and it was almost 2 full seconds faster. I'm not sure, but I think the S550's time around the track was slower than the Boss's time on that same track driven by Randy. Ford failed, under damped and...
That would explain some of the reviews saying the power fell off in the upper rpm's. I wonder what that is all about and why they did that. Limit power? is it a heat issue? curious minds want to know.
Yes the reviews are overall quite positive. That is a good thing. But they are also very subjective. And in the real objective performance arena, mean nothing. My initial bad reaction was based off the very limited hard performance data. It accelerates at the same pace as the out going...
I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about Probst on the same track, same day. Just like all the other MT comparisons. I'm perfectly aware of how important the driver is to how fast a car can make it around a track. I'm also aware that not even the best driver can overcome all a car's...
No facts, just over reactive deduction from the few hard numbers we got that show it no faster than the current mustang, slower on the figure 8 than the boss. Even though it had higher Gs. Which seems suspect. Considering the LE1 is faster than the 14 GT TP on the track. By allot, three...
Umm, no. Drag racing means nothing to be. I track my car. The current LE1 Camaro beats the S550 GT PP right now, the new Alpha chassis Camaro will only make it worse. That is what chaps my hide. I'm a life long Mustang owner and driver. I feel I've earned the right to bitch when ford...
You can't test drive a car at the level that I'd want to, to determine if it is what I'd want. Street driving, even spirited street driving isn't going to push to car enough to get me the info I want to know. These reviews, however accurate or inaccurate they are, are at least on a driving...
I'm a life long mustang owner driver. I'm on number 12, my daughter and my girlfriend also drive a mustang. I guess my initial reaction to the first impressions/previews was a little bit over board. I was pissed that it didn't meet up with Ford's hype. Even though I realize drivers differ...
This is my biggest gripe. I could forgive the base GT/V6/Eco being a bit wallowy but there is no excuse for the GT PP to be that way. None, zero, nada. Why the hell ford insists on continually producing under sprung, under damped performance model mustangs is beyond me.
Exactly, I have a 2012 Brembo GT, springs, bilsteins, sway bars, and I was thinking seriously about getting a 2015 PP GT. Thinking it would out perform my 2012. That is a big no, now. Maybe the GT350 in a year. Either way, I think Ford absolutely spit the bit and missed out on a great...
