Had mine done this week. Mechanic took them completely apart, and reassembled them back together after they got done. PC of the calipers was with a metallic color that was more expensive and required a clear coated layer too. Rotors were just glossy black.
PC total cost was $589 total...
You have me mistaken for someone who knows what they're doing. :)
The brakes were taken apart and put back together by a real mechanic. I believe he did use some new rings tho. Mechanic cost me $225. Bargain.
Yeah, it's more expensive and time consuming. Yeah, I didn't have my car for close to a week. Yeah, it's more stressful wondering/hoping that putting all the brakes back together will go smoothly.
But...powdercoated calipers and rotors done professionally...look damn good!
It's been cold and rainy in NW Indiana. Not much of a chance for better pics.
Also added 25mm spacers today and coated the calipers with McKee's wheel coating. The black lugs complete the look.
The ceramic coating isn't necessarily to keep it shinier looking...it's to make it harder for the brake dust(and other dirt) to adhere to the clearcoat of the rims and therefore, easier to clean off. Plus, its hardness makes for less scratches when you clean.
Does anybody know if the mirror tapping would be the same in an F-150?. I have an identical looking mirror in my truck and I'm looking to install dash cams in both the mustang and the truck.
I had them ceramic coated with 2 coats of 22ple. there's a wheel version here:

Given that the car is only 2 months old, haven't had a chance to see how much easier they are to clean.
Follow the instructions in the manual (car not running) but on the last step, press and HOLD the ignition button for several seconds. The dash lights should all light up at once and then you'll know it's done. That's what happened with me.
Thanks forum members! I was about to return my key to the Amazon reseller before I found this thread. Worked perfect...
Also, big shout-out to the Ford manual......NOT.
