I dont know how much heat was supposedly being felt but 2 of my Mustangs, a 94 GT and an 05 GT both gave off a decent amount of heat by the console gear shift area. On the 94 nothing was done about it. But on the 05 I put dynamat under the console and the heat problem was gone.
