For those who've got the ford performance power packs, lets see some videos in action of accelerations, installs, no lift shifts, 1/8 and 1/4 mile racing, and whatever else you have of your power pack!:headbang::cheers::ford:
3 MAIN QUESTIONS
-Do these FORD POWER PACKS come with CARB emission stickers?
-Also can a person use another tuner like LUND with the power pack 3 to trick visual inspection from CHP?
- Lastly will tuning the car back to stock for same tune as PP3 allow for smog test passing when the time comes...
I've got the Ford Racing track pack which lowered me a bit over 1 inch and I'm running 285/35/19 and 305/35/19 on 10/11 inch rims. I don't use any spacers and have no rubbing issues on big freeway bumps or aggressive canyon driving. Ive got no power mods and the car hooks. I mashed it from first...
What kind of power gains will I have on my GT if I only do a 91 octane tune? I don't want to do any aftermarket intake. I only have a hatchback exhaust and want to tune the car for 91 octane, what kind of power gains will I get?
cjgt350 yeah i meant JRI, JRZ are the cheaper stuff lol. Well said though, the stock ones punch way above their price point, no need to spend 8k on other shocks.
mattlqx exactly my point, if the gt350 is just as capable with just a rim and tire swap, why even bother trying to spend 25-40k sticker markups on a R? cjgt350 What mods did you do that made such a huge impact in dropping your time so much?
I would love to hear from both R and NON-R owners who have done extensive track days, comparing them to find out if there is a true noticeable difference in performance even after 10, 20 laps once the NON-R has the same tires and lightweight wheels...
Offboost I am definitely a fan of the R as well, but I'm trying to figure out why theres so much hype about something that can be had for 30k less. Motor Trend even said the "gt350 is an excellent car, as long as you don't drive the R model," which makes it sound like its a different platform...
Offboost I agree, but if one was to swap the OEM rims and tires with lighter Forgeline wheels and put on the same cup 2's, would the difference between the 2 be negligible?
I looked up the time differences between the lap times set at Chuckwalla Raceway by motor trend for gt350 and 350R.
GT350 (with MPSS 295,305 tires): 2.00.8
GT350R (with CUP 2's): 1.57.8
So there is exactly a 3 second difference between them two around the racetrack in the hands of a...
I know some companies make gt350 replica fenders that are almost 5mm wider than stock, but are there any that make 10-15mm wider so we can comfortably fit 305's upfront without having to do a lot of camber or have poke?
Its a 10' wide wheel, so I think you make an excellent point on adjusting the psi and so how it does after increasing the psi 2. Thank you for your input VNTGSPD
285 upfront and 305 in the rear. The rears are fine, the fronts are wearing evenly but in canyon driving, the sidewall seems to get wear as well. I think I'm going to need -2 camber upfront but am not sure if factory components will allow that or if i need camber plates VNTGSPD
