Just to make your decision harder; we are currently working with VMPTuning on developing a tune package! If you're not familiar with VMPTuning, Justin Starkey started the company in 1999 and has been providing the Mustang industry with some of the safest, best performing tunes since.

That really surprises me. I can't imagine the reason for deciding against them was due to the cost per part. Possibly something to do with quality concerns or even assembly line flow?

It's funny, I was thinking the same thing when doing the install.

From my understanding the PP car finishes around 5k in 4th gear. The non PP car is forced to shift into 4th just past the 1000' mark. I can assure you that the 3.55's benefit the car down the 1/4 mile.

The gears on the PP cars really help. I also think the 13.8 car lacks the premium package which helps with the weight slightly.

Just like Stoli said, the hood struts don't effect how the hood closes. I do really like how the hood opens now now. It opens in such a way that the last few inches of extension are slow and controlled as to prevent unnecessary forces to the attachment points. I will get a video up shortly...
