I had a TT GT500 with mild steel headers...I had no idea the mistake I was making when I purchased those. Corrosion, cracks...not difficult to fix but just annoying and time consuming.
I suggest you develop a relationship with a shop. And then choose the blower they are most comfortable with that will fulfill your goals.
BTW, Kenne Bell's service interval is 12000 miles. I believe Whipple's is greater.
And the TVS's are 100000.
Have a goal and develop a plan! Don't just...
Is it possible to disconnect the charge pipe from the intercooler? If not the charge pipe, how accessible is the blow off valve?
If so, just disconnect it and run the the car N/A with the turbos just bleeding boost to atmosphere.
^^^This!
With an auto trans and 58-62mm turbos it would be more of a novelty than functional. With the MT-82, it's just going to break driveline parts.
Sell the Roush as a package to make your TT conversion more affordable!
IMHO, if you must have cats to pass inspection get a custom H-pipe made with cats just for inspections.
Once you are making more than 650rwhp, the cats will not live long anyhow. Thus no point in running them all the time.
It's going to be weather dependent. It may run fine maxed out during the Summer and then it could lean out during the Fall or Winter.
IMHO, I would avoid maxing out the fuel system. Return style systems are much cheaper than a new piston(s).
The exhaust gas density of E85 is greater as it takes 30% more fuel comparatively with gas. It is cooler but it is more dense. That denser pressure wave will spool the turbo noticeably quicker!
Don't do it! The flat plane crank will quickly succumb to the laws of physics if boosted.
Are the 55mm units available with a larger A/R? I haven't done any testing but I imagine this is a significant contributor to the backpressure issues.
Does the backpressure issue become more pronounced on E85? More fuel = more exhaust. Now imagine all that hot expanded exhaust trying to...
What is the A/R of the 55mm turbos that Hellion offers?
And what is the A/R of the 62mm turbos that Hellion offers?
And finally, what size exhaust is on the car?
For any turbo kit, before valve springs are purchased I'd get exhaust cutouts or vent the wastegates to atmosphere.
And it is...
The V-bands are a nice touch. Thanks again for answering my emails.
I'd likely opt for http://xonarotor.com/products/xrturbochargers over Precision Turbo.
