Actually it's not the same engine it's different it's purely direct injection. It has more Incommon with the new forester xt and japan market legacy turbo engine than anything else stateside. There was a test and the new wrx makes torque faster than the new sti...
Your best bet for that payment would be getting a left over 3.7 base model or older gt. You really should consider where you are going to be at the end of the loan. A 19 year old at lowes likely won't be there at 25. If I was you is consider spending that money on trade school or college and...
I for one love the 3.7. If I lived about 5,000-6,000 feet lower it would hands down cyclone for me. At sea level I see very little advantage over the 3.7 with the 2.3 and it has a decent exhaust note to boot... I personally believe the ecoboost will be a 1,000 or less option.
You are correct I had a wrx with a VF-37 twin scroll turbo. I had it tuned and it just added a little dynamic to tuning but nothing that would stop a tuner in its tracks.
That is not correct the 6% is with 93 octane and fully tuned out. The 91 octane is 3-4%. That is what i am saying if all i can gain with a retune is 9-12hp on a turbocharged car I will be disapointed. Very disapointed.
I just realized it is going to have a 9.8:1 compression ratio all the other economist engines have a 10.0:1 compression ratio or more. This really makes me think we are going to be able to run much larger boost numbers than other comparable Ecoboost vehicles! This can be interesting!
I feel like the OP wants the coyote to go away. Keep in mind the LS platform is still being used today 14 years after its inception. I believe they can make the coyote last as long as they want with innovation and the ALMIGHTY $$$$$.
They can probably change the displacement higher or lower...
I am afraid that this car is going to be more similar to the fiesta st in aftermarket modifications. Get a whopping 6 percent max gain from a tune on 93. I hope the 2.3 won't be tapped out but I think ford is going to leave very little on the table for us.. I hope they leave more like the f150...
While I like the old cologne motor I believe it weighed about the same as the 3.7 it had an iron block. But I did like it in my old mustang it was pretty decent for a truck motor!
